Laundromats that accept cash?

Freshman lol. Are there any laundromats in WL that accept $20 bills? There are issues with my current card, and my new one won't come for 2 more weeks. I need to do laundry pretty bad

Best restaurant on or near campus?

Incoming freshman lol. What's y'all's favorite spot to eat lunch near campus? My family and I want to grab a bite before we move in on Saturday. I've only eaten at dining halls when I've been on campus, so I wanna mix it up a little

If there's a very severe storm (like a tornado) on campus, where do you go to take shelter?

Incoming freshman lol. Just wondering where the severe storm shelters are in the dorms or academic buildings.

I have severe anxiety and trauma due to being struck by a tornado before

Any good churches or Bible study/youth groups on campus?

Incoming freshman lol. I'm a non-denominational Christian, and I would like to reconnect with God while on campus. My family is all Catholic and wants me to attend St. Thomas Aquinas. Still, I don't want to associate myself with Catholicism after some really bad experiences at my Catholic school and church.

I still want to worship God and go to a church, and I also want to join a youth or Bible study group so I can finally read the Bible and get some answers.

Does anyone have any photos of their double or small triple in the Honors South dorms?

BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING, YES. I KNOW THERE ARE PHOTOS AND FLOOR PLANS ON THE HOUSING WEBSITE. However, according to the honors website (tho it hasn't been updated since 2017), their floor plan shows the rooms to be a lot larger and different than what is on the website. The rooms on the website look to be taken in the Honors North dorms. I'm in a small triple in Honors South, so an accurate estimate of what my room would look like would be great for planning. Thank you

Should I buy toiletries/hygiene stuff now or when I get on campus?

I share most toiletries and hygiene items with my siblings, like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and deodorant with my mom. So, I don't have many personal products for college. I added the cheapest, well-reviewed items to my Amazon cart, but it's still pricey. I could buy everything at Target when I get to Purdue for BGR. I'm a Target Circle member (thanks Reddit for the tip), so I get a 10% discount. Thoughts?

is $560 too much for freshman dorm essentials?

incoming freshman here lol. i’m trying to cut down the cost of everything i’ll need for purdue, like bedding, hygiene products, dorm essentials, and other supplies.

i originally had five amazon lists: apparel, essentials, hygiene, miscellaneous, and supplies. i managed to cut everything down from over $900 and 54 items to $560.94 and 33 items, but that still feels like a lot.

this also doesn’t include textbooks or school supplies because i’m not sure what i’ll actually need yet. i already have a lot of supplies left over from high school and some things i received as graduation gifts.

does $560.94 for 33 items sound reasonable, or am i still overspending? about how much did you spend on your freshman essentials?

are there any dorm showers accessible?

incoming freshman lol. i can't stand for long periods of time without feeling like i'm gonna pass out (taking a shower is one) so i usually just sit on the floor of my shower, but i don't think i'm willing to do that in a dorm shower bc ew. are there generally any showers in the res halls that are accessible to people who can't stand that long or at all like me? (idk what hall i'm in. that doesn't release until wednesday)

Accidentally dropped Canvas course for ALEKS math placement test and can’t re-enroll — what should he do?

My boyfriend is an incoming freshman at IU Indy and is trying to complete his ALEKS math placement test by Sunday. The test is connected to a Canvas course, but the course/site was already giving him issues before this happened. It was saying he didn’t exist or wasn’t properly enrolled, so he tried dropping the Canvas course and re-enrolling to fix it.

Now he can’t get back into the Canvas course at all, which means he can’t access the ALEKS placement test. He’s already emailed his admissions counselor, but he’s really stressed because the deadline is coming up fast and tech support hasn’t been helpful so far.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Who should he contact to get re-enrolled quickly — admissions, advising, IT, Canvas support, ALEKS support, or someone else? Is there usually a way for the school to manually add him back into the course?

Any advice would be really appreciated because he’s panicking and just wants to get the test done. I don't know how to help him because I'm going to Purdue and the test is optional for me.

HELP Locked out of Purdue login because my phone is broken and Microsoft Authenticator is required—academic advising meeting tomorrow

My phone is currently broken but I have my academic advising meeting tomorrow and need to log in on my computer. My computer didn't have my Purdue log-in saved so I have to sign in using the Microsoft Authenticator app. Since my phone is completely busted, I can not log in. I've tried using my mom's phone but since it's connected to my phone, I need to use the Microsoft Authenticator app to log into the Microsoft Authenticator app. HELP
