Rembrandt Self Portrait. A Study by me (Aniket)

Done using soft pastels. The values are decent but the colors may not be accurate because of the limited color set.

First soft pastel study

I didn't get the shape right I know. The values are a bit off too. I just wanted to talk about the medium. It is a forgiving medium I'd say. But it can be hard to control in the beginning. I thought it'd be like oil pastels, it is more like chalk instead. I'd suggest y'all give it a try if you already haven't.

My First Portrait (and it's Nick Cage)

So, new to this sub and I'm nervous but this turned out decent-ish? Be kind pls, I lose motivation quick 😭🙏 All suggestions welcomed though.

Tried Oils Again

It ain't much yet , but this is only my second try and after 4 years. It's been such a rewarding and therapeutic homecoming for me in a way because I thought I'd never pick brushes up again. Also, I'm completely directionless here. I'd be stoked if y'all would be so kind as to send any yt recommendations or suggestions on how to get better. I really wanna learn .

So, yesterday was my sister's birthday. I wanted to post this section of Come Together that we did years ago. I'm in a different city and I miss her a lot. Hope y'all like it.
