Went to SIP OF HOPE, and loved it (Want recommendations to visit good cafes)

I went to SIP OF HOPE on Sunday and loved the food and the beverages.

We tried the brownie hot chocolate and it was so so good!

We also tried a pizza recommended by the person serving us (I have forgotten the name) and peri peri fries and liked both.

After getting disappointed by so many cafes making subpar hot chocolate, snd even more subpar food, this was like a breath of fresh air . :P

Please share more such good cafes that serve thick hot chocolate + good food.

Thanks.

Say hi to my dog

Watching her sleeping peacefully is the best thing of my life. I feel extremely content watching her sleeping without giving two hoots about anything.

How she came into my life is a story for some other day.

Just wanted to show y’all my daughter and i hope and pray your dog kids also get to sleep peacefully like mine.

Advice from the older (50+) CF folks

[Asking again as I didn't get any answers to my previous post]

Hello everyone,

We're are a 32 year old DINKwad couple.

We had a few questions from the older (50+) CF people about managing finances and living during the golden years.

Finance-wise, we're sorted. We have a home, car, insurance, investments etc are in place. We want to know

  1. Is it a wise idea to retire in a senior care community? If yes, what kind of senior care community we should look at? what things should we look at while zeroing down a place? and at what age one should start looking at such a place, if at all?
  2. If one of the spouse dies, how should the other spouse handle finances and the emotional turmoil? How should one be interested in life and keep going in the absence of their support system?
  3. In old age, we tend to loose memory. How to identify someone we can trust with our finances?
  4. We can also face difficulty for doing simple tasks like walking, sitting etc. How to ensure someone is readily available to help in such cases or even in emergencies.
  5. Any advice/learnings you can share.

These questions often cross our minds so I thought it's best to ask here.

Thank you.

STORY TIME!! Finally mujhe ghar khareedne ki khushi hui

Hello everyone,

A few days ago, I posted in this sub that I recently bought a house par mujhe khushi nahi hui -- link for reference

fir kal kya hua, I went to my clubhouse for workout. toh yahaan tenants ko clubs use krne ki fee deni padti hai jisk baad registration hota hai and security guards k pass list aati hai jinhe voh tally krte hain and register me entry krte hain... fir ek access card banta hai which is different from an owner's access card

ab kaafi log tally and entry ni karte but mai diligently karvati hun like a good citizen. ab last month tak mai bhi tenant thi toh guard bhaiya se check krvati thi tenant list me se.. toh kal jab mai krva ri thi toh bhaiya was like madam aapka toh naam hi ni hai.. aapne membership nahi li?

I was like bhaiya aap galat list me naam dekh rhe ho.. owners' list me naam dekhiye.

badaa mazaa aaya yeh bol k.. saari feeling aa gyi ghar lene ki jo nahi aa ri thi. :P

Second Incident

I was selling a few household stuff which i advertised in our society whatsapp group. Toh ek aunty reached out and aayi dekhne and asked ki mai kyu bech ri hun..

Me: I have purchased a fully furnished house isiliye

Aunty: curiously kitne me lia

Me: price btayi

Aunty: pacify krte hue boli ki haan haan itna toh ho hi jaata hai.. then she reconfirmed my name -- aap hi XYZ hona

Me: yes

She was a bit suprised with the fact that mai jo abhi bohot young hun.. I have bought a house in a posh society.. i'm 32 but I look 3-4 years younger. (not bragging at all) :P

And, such incidents have happened a few times.. people just don't believe in the first instance ki mera jaisa young banda bhi ghar le skta hai ek upscale space me.

PS. I have another story of why I bought this house and how manifestation worked in my favour when I didn't even know I was manifesting.. voh kuch dino me likhungi

Thank you for reading. :)

I was laid off on 2nd April. I have 9+ years in content marketing across B2B SaaS, FinTech, Web3, US-based startups, SMEs. I love what I do, and I know I'm good at it.

And yet, here I am.

Most companies ghost me after I apply. The ones that do respond, I get to 2-3 interview rounds and then... silence. Or a rejection email with no real feedback. I don't know if it's my resume, my LinkedIn, the way I'm coming across in interviews, or just the market right now.

What makes it worse is that I recently bought a house. EMIs kick in next month. And, that's messing with my head more than I'd like to admit.

I guess what I'm asking is:

- Those of you who've been through this, how did you push through mentally?

- Is the market for marketing jobs just brutal right now, or am I missing something?

- What actually worked for you — cold outreach, referrals, agencies, something else entirely?

Any honest advice would be genuinely appreciated. Thank you.
