SteamVR controller issue

While I'm wearing my Galaxy XR the controllers work perfectly, when I launch steamvr the controllers continue to work. When I launch a Vrol VR within steam the controllers suffer so hard and spend most of their time Frozen or glitched. If I press the menu button for Galaxy XR the Galaxy XR window opens and the controllers work perfectly. It's like something's happening in steamvr. Any suggestions?

SteamOS?

The steam frame is going to run on a very similar hardware platform as the Galaxy XR. I'm praying that someone figures out how to Port steamos onto the Galaxy XR. I pre-ordered a steam frame because I'm expecting flawless integration with my gaming PC. I would love to have steamos on the screens in my Galaxy XR!

USPS shipping sucks

What's going on with USPS? I have 4 packages shipped from 4 different websites, all USPS priority. All have been in either lax or sea since the 9th (9 days).

How do I get started for real?

Software dev for a long time as my night job (maybe 15 years and mostly web). I've dabbled in game dev in unity on and off over the years but I've never been serious.

I recently figured out what my dream game would be, how it would play, and I want to make it. It's a medium+ game and maybe too big for me to build on my own...

Anyways, where should I get started? What's the formula for longer term success?

Right eye flickering VR VTOL Virtual Desktop

Hey friends, I've migrated here from the Pimax micro-oled and the gxr is definitely an upgrade (for me). Better visuals, better lenses, better comfort, better overall experience.

I am having issues with gaming though. I love wireless gaming but I'm noticing in Virtual Desktop when I play vr vtol I'm getting stuttering in the right eye. I've always had hardwired pc vr headsets and I'm new to virtual desktop, what do I need to know?

I have settings set to monster and bitrate set to max.

Threadripper 7960x

256gb ddr5 6000mhz

Nvme pcie5 4tb

Dual rtx 5090

2.5gbps hard wired to ubiquity u7 pro (mostly wifi 6e connection though)

The FAA is NOT hiring their staffing goals.

Ignore all the political"FAA hit their hiring goals for 2026 already!" posts

The FAA did not change the way they hire, they did not change the was we train. The FAA only changed the goal.

The FAA administrator lowered the controller cap so that the 20 year controller shortage looked better on paper.

LOTS of controllers are stuck working 10 hours per day, 6 days per week on 2008 salaries.

Frame dragging solution

OLEDs are notorious for having instant response times, so I'm a little miffed by the frame dragging in the gxr. Is this an issue with the software or the panels? Most of my screens around the house are OLED and don't experience this frame dragging effect.

Clocks all tick at the same time

These clocks all sync to a central sync computer and tick at the same rate all day and night.

Craigslist find. I have hundreds of these 😳

Pimax to Galaxy xr?

Preamble:

I've got a pimax crystal super micro-oled and I'm so sick of pimax. After 6 rma, they finally sent me a decent unit, then they threatened to remote DRM lock my headset because they didn't realize they received my return unit months ago. Everything is trash at pimax right now and I kinda want out. Additionally I hate the pc tether and want wireless xr experience and I love those oled panels. I figured Galaxy xr might be my path forward as an android user.

Question:

I've found a Galaxy xr that supposedly has been lightly used for a work project that includes controllers and case for $1700. From what I can tell this is probably a pretty good deal. Anything I should look out for, besides the lenses obviously?

[FOLLOW UP] Qwen3.6 27b q5_k_M MTP - 256k context - 5090

DUAL 5090s!!!

Absolutely amazing results with dual 5090s, basically doubling my tps.

Just ran this test and surprised by the results.

>llama-cli-mtp \
-m ~/Downloads/Qwen3.6-27B-Q5_K_M-mtp.gguf \
--spec-type mtp \
--spec-draft-n-max 3 \
--cache-type-k q8_0 \
--cache-type-v q8_0 \
-c 262144 \
-ngl 99 \
--flash-attn on \
--verbose \
-p "Write a short Python function that parses a CSV file."

[ Prompt: 1735.6 t/s | Generation: 127.9 t/s ]
Peak GPU total system memory usage is 18+21=39GB

I've done literally nothing besides put in the second GPU and alter my llama command.

>llama-cli-mtp \
-m ~/Downloads/Qwen3.6-27B-Q5_K_M-mtp.gguf \
--spec-type mtp \
--spec-draft-n-max 3 \

-p "Write a short Python function that parses a CSV file."

[ Prompt: 251.7 t/s | Generation: 119.4 t/s ]
Peak GPU total system memory 22+25=47GB

Sharing more configurations and tests. I haven't evaluated the output of these tests, just sharing speeds.

Edit: 65-75 tps
