What to do about this randy boy…

My 6 year old ornate box turtle became sexually mature this year and I don’t know what to do with him aside from what I’m already doing which is keeping him confined to his own enclosure. I have three separate enclosures, one with an adult female and two juveniles and another with two males and one female, all 6-7 years old. Everyone gets along but I had to set up a new separate enclosure for this guy this year and I feel sort of bad. He is so riled up that he’s not even interested in the worms I’m trying to feed him. Occasionally, I put him in the enclosure with the older turtles to see if he can behave himself and he instantly makes a bee line for one of the turtles (he doesn’t discriminate what sex they are) and will chase them down and try to bite them and then try to mate with them. It’s stressful for them so back in solitary confinement he goes but I start to worry when he doesn’t seem interested in food because he has higher priorities on his mind.

I’m including a video of him right after I separated him from the other turtles because he was harassing them so then he zooms around his enclosure rearranging furniture on his mad hunt for a mate. I feel for this guy but he’s sort of a menace to the rest of the crew who all seem to respect boundaries 🤣

What are they building here?

Just after the merge from the 676 to the 76, across the river from the art museum. What’s going up here?

Where can I find Apple Dumplings?

Without having to go to Lancaster which is where I had one last week and am totally obsessed with apple dumplings now. Any place in the city that sells them?

When was your first No Doubt concert?

I’ve seen No Doubt roughly 15 times over the years but the first time was April 16th, 1996 in Pittsburgh. I was 17 years old. They were opening for Bush. I didn’t know who they were but when Gwen came out on stage, she was total eye candy to me. I loved her style, loved everything about the look of the band, and most of all, fell in love with their music. Flew in to see them opening night at the Sphere then went back over Memorial Day weekend. They’ve always been a really good band to see live. It’s crazy to think it’s been 30 years since I first saw them. Lots of good memories…

Standing Bow Pulling Pose

I practice 26+2 and I often hear that how high you can kick your leg up in standing bow pulling pose depends on the flexibility of the hamstring in your standing leg. I don’t know why I’m not understanding the mechanics of that statement but can someone explain this to me? I practice often and I can kick decently high in either leg but I’m not sure what the standing leg hamstring connection is to that and just want a better understanding of what is meant by it. Thanks!

Efficacy of OG BPI

Been on tirz since March 2025, in maintenance now for 7 months. Aside from 2 vials of Olympia, the rest of that time was BPI w/o additives. I have 1 1/2 vials of BPI left with a 2/2026 BUD. BPI has worked very well for me this entire time until lately and I suspect that’s the pitfall of stockpiling. My highest dose was 7.5mg. I kept losing on that in maintenance so I started stretching my doses to every 10 days then I moved down to 6mg weekly and started stretching to every 10 days and my weight stayed stable there for a while. For the last several weeks, the food noise has started and feeling snackish all the time so I started taking 7mg weekly for the last 5 weeks and this week I’m planning on going up to 8mg. Anyone else in the same boat with expired BUD? If the increased dose doesn’t help I’m considering tossing my last BPI vial and moving on to my ProRX.

Essix Retainer after Abutments?

I had my four lower front teeth extracted several weeks ago and two implants placed. I go back in 3 months to get the implants uncovered and abutments placed. I just thought of this but will I still be able to wear my essix retainer afterwards because then I’ll be waiting another 5 weeks before I get my crowns.

Is this normal healing 5 weeks later?

I had my four lower front teeth extracted 5 weeks ago and two implants placed with bone graft (I’ll have a bridge to span the two middle teeth. I had my stitches removed 2 weeks later and did a course of antibiotics. Is it normal to have granulation at the site 5 weeks out? I have no pain nor discomfort. Because of other injuries I was on a liquid diet for 6 weeks and just transitioned to soft foods last week. At week 3 (one week after stitches were removed) I called the oral surgeon and asked about the white spots so they had me come into the office and he removed them and said something about he likes to pack extra in. My gums were clear for a couple days but then the white granules showed up again. I don’t want to bother the office if this is normal. Anyone with experience that can chime in? I’m leaving them alone, obviously not brushing the area and not running my tongue over it. I wear an essix retainer about 10 hours a day, most days.
