2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L Automatic Transmission Cooler Line Cross-Threading at Radiator Fitting — Need Advice

Hey guys, I’m replacing the transmission cooler line on my 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L automatic (L4) and I’m running into an issue with the radiator fitting side. The new cooler line is basically identical to the old one, but when I try threading it into the radiator/trans cooler port, it only goes in partway before getting very hard and wanting to cross-thread. The weird part is that even the original OEM line started doing the same thing when I tried reinstalling it after removal. The tube itself seems slightly offset from the radiator fitting, so I have to push the line sideways a bit just to get it started. I attached pictures showing the offset and how far it threads before binding. Does this look like damaged radiator threads, a bent cooler line, or is this normal with these Ford compression-style fittings? Also, what’s the proper solution here before I destroy the radiator threads or damage the new line?

FNR5 trans surface prep

Working on the transmission pan sealing surface on my 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L automatic (FNR5). After scraping the old gasket material, there’s still a gray hard residue/staining around the valve body area that almost feels like cement/oxidation.

The actual sealing rail feels smooth now, but I’m wondering:

  1. Does this gray stuff need to be completely removed?
  2. If yes, what’s the safest way to clean it without damaging the aluminum sealing surface?

I’ve already used:

  • razor blade
  • acetone/brake cleaner

2006 Ford fusion 2.3L torque specs

hey guys, so I have a 2006 Ford fusion 2.3 L with a automatic transmission and I was wondering if anybody knew what the torque specs were for the bracket to transmission casing nuts. There are three of them, and also the torque specifications for the vibration dampner

Bought a new motor mount for my 2006 ford fusion. There’s rips inside the trans mount is this normal or defect?

Hi guys, so I wanted to get the communities take on this. I just bought a new motor mount and there’s a tear in the rubber. I just wanted to know is this normal or is this some type of defect to be returned. For context  2006 Ford fusion 2.3 L with a automatic transmission. i’ve bought two other ones and  them because they  the same tear, but I  see if it’s supposed to be like this

2006 ford fusion Front crankshaft seal

Hey guys, I have a 2006 ford fusion 2.3L FNR5 trans and I wanted to change the front main seal but I don't know the procedure and online people are doing it in different ways. is there a manual to follow or can someone please explain the procedure to me I have attached pictures of what it looks like for reference. There are people who say I need to remove the valve cover and install a device for the camshaft so I don't mess up the timing and some people say I need to put in some screw into one of those multiple holes to hold it so im not sure. thank you

I’m about to perform a major drivetrain refresh on my 2006 Ford Fusion (2.3L, FNR5 transmission). I have all my parts ready: new trans mount, pan gasket, filter, EPC solenoid, and fresh cooler lines. My main concern is the order of operations. I need to jack up the transmission to swap the mount, which means jacking against the pan.

Should I change the mount first or the pan gasket/solenoids first? My logic is to do the mount first so I’m not jacking against a brand-new gasket and potentially causing a leak or warping the pan alignment after it’s been sealed. Does it matter if the gasket is done after the mount is already torqued down?

Any advice from people who have done this specific job would be appreciated.

I have a 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L and just installed a new Motorcraft upper radiator hose from rockauto part number is Motorcraft KM5044

The issue is the new hose is about 2 inches shorter than the original OEM hose. The original had a bit more slack, while this one sits tighter but still installs without forcing it.

It does reach both ends and follows the correct routing, but it has less play than the old one. I haven’t fully clamped and run the engine yet.

From the pictures:

  • Does this look like a normal fit for a newer design?
  • Or should there be more slack like the original?
  • Any concern about engine movement or stress on the fittings with a slightly shorter hose?

Just want to make sure I’m not risking a leak or failure before I run the car.

Thanks

hey guys so I recently just took off my intake and looking into the ports it was pretty bad and  to clean it up. I’ve  combination of  carb cleaner water and engine degreaser while brushing with a nylon brush. One of the ports that you’re going to see is one of the one that I haven’t cleaned and that’s because the valves are open and I don’t know how to clean it honestly so should the amount that I cleaned it be enough or do I  do a more deep cleaning?

I’m working on a 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L and replacing the intake manifold with a new one

The old IMRC (intake manifold runner control) actuator connector looks like it has visible metal pins shown in the picture , but the new one looks like it just has small rubber/plastic “nubs” inside instead of pins

Are these sealed connectors where the metal terminals are recessed behind the seals? Or did I get a defective part with missing pins?

The harness side (car side) has metal pins that plug into it.

Just want to make sure this is normal before I install it.

Pics attached.
