Anxiety is a free laxative

TMI, but like, before I go somewhere, I make it a point to go to the bathroom before I leave, but im so anxious that im constipated. Once I get there, im gonna shit my pants. It’s so annoying. But hey, free laxative I guess!

Fucking hate Fourth of July.

The fireworks stress me out, the loud sounds of people screaming and enjoying them, I hate it.

I live in an apartment, so there’s a lot of people banded together celebrating. Not to kill the vibe, but I personally hate it.

Plus, my dog gets super anxious and barks a lot and I feel so bad for him. The loud noises and barks scare my little kitty so badly too.

Sertraline not working anymore?

I’m 16 f and I’ve been on sertraline for over 6 months at this point. I’m on it for a severe panic/anxiety disorder.

I was on Fluoxetine (Prozac) for a while before switching to sertraline because I had bad side effects.

A few months ago, the Zoloft stopped having as much effectiveness and dose increases didn’t help.

Now im feeling gloomy and more anxious than ever. I constantly have panic attacks and im beginning to feel hopeless.

I’m trying to switch psychiatrists, but it might be a few weeks, im not quite sure yet.

In the meantime, my current psychiatrist doesn’t wanna mess with the dosage or switch medications all together. She gave me clonidine, starting it tonight, so hopefully it helps, idk. :(

Anyone else going through this? I need hope aughhhh.

Anyone else called selfish for their anxiety?

I really don’t mean to be selfish, I just can’t do things sometimes.

It’s really hard to go places without having panic attacks.

I don’t want to waste people’s time and i definitely don’t do this on purpose. :(

I feel really really bad.

What anxiety meds worked for you guys?

I’m 16, and I’ve been on Zoloft 100mg for like 2 ish months. I’ve been on Zoloft for 7 months in total and at first, I felt good, but my anxiety kept coming back, so I kept increasing the dose. My anxiety just hasn’t really gotten better, it’s actually gotten worse.

My anxiety is pretty bad and I’ve been having horrible panic attacks over the past month. I’ve also tried Prozac before, about a year ago to November of last year and it didn’t work well.

I really just wanna live a relatively normal life. I can’t go out and do things with people, so I don’t really have any friends. I can’t even stand being in a drive-through.

Zoloft to Lexapro success stories?

I’m 16 and when I was 12, I had to leave regular school, due to my anxiety. I can’t hang out with anyone or go most places. Due to this, I don’t really have any friends and I can’t do anything. Since it’s summer, adults always ask if I have summer plans and it makes me really sad and sometimes enraged, because I don’t. I CANT have plans. I want to, but my anxiety will NOT let me. I had a panic attack at the grocery store yesterday and three panic attacks in the car. I really want to help myself, so I’m wondering if switching meds is the way to go.

I started Prozac first. I had a lot of side effects and no improvement in my anxiety. I was on Prozac for about 3 ish months in total and tried 3 different doses. Next, I went on Zoloft. It was better. I had no side effects and my anxiety improved. However, my anxiety did eventually creep back in, so I kept increasing my dose, which didn’t really do anything. I’ve been on Zoloft for around 7 months, maybe a little more.

Since my anxiety didn’t really improve, I’m wondering if I should switch to Lexapro, which would be my next option.

My psychiatrist doesn’t think that I should up my Zoloft dose or try a different medication yet, but I am really struggling.

It’s worth noting that I have really bad sleep issues as well. I’ve been tested for everything and all of my levels are normal. After like 2-3 years of begging, my doctor finally put in a referral for a sleep specialist. Both my doctor and psychiatrist think that the reason the Zoloft’s not working completely is largely due to my lack of sleep. Due to this, they don’t necessarily believe that a switch is required.

While I believe that sleep is a factor, I still think that the Zoloft isn’t really working and trying Lexapro won’t hurt.

It’s most likely going to be a couple of months, minimum before I can be seen for the actual sleep study. It hasn’t even been scheduled yet. Until I undergo the actual study, I can’t get any real answers for why my sleep is so abnormal. I just don’t think it’s fair to have me wait months while my anxiety just gets increasingly worse on Zoloft.

I would love some Lexapro hope/success stories, because I really need to know that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for some people.

It happened, I’m super shaken up, but it passed. :)

TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been running around all day and I haven’t really eaten anything substantial and it caught up to me. :/

I’m taking doxycycline for another few weeks and I’ve never had an issue with nausea or anything on it. Unfortunately, it’s two in the morning, I was tired, so I took it with a few strawberries. BACKFIRED!!!!

About 20 minutes later a massive wave of hunger nausea hit me. I was too frazzled to get myself something and I began to gag and I couldn’t stop. I didn’t actually throw anything up, just a lot of saliva. Gagging is my real fear tbh. That’s why I hate vomiting.

But yea, it happened, and it passed. :)

I’m just SUPER shaken up. This was literally a few minutes ago.

Zoloft to Lexapro?? Would love some insight :)

I feel a little gloomy on 100mg of Zoloft. I’m not normally a depressed person, im on SSRIs for anxiety severe anxiety disorder.

About 10 ish months ago i was initially on Prozac, but it made me depressed, so I switched to Zoloft. I tried like three different doses of Prozac, but it didn’t work.

I felt a lot better on Zoloft, no gloomy feeling, and a lot less anxious. Overtime though, my anxiety gradually began to creep back in. I’ve increased my dose like three different times? I’m on 100mg right now. My anxiety is getting worse and I feel gloomy. To get rid of the gloomy feeling, I would probably be recommended to switch down to a lower dose, but then im worried that my anxiety would get even worse.

I had two of the worst panic attacks ive ever had this week.

I just feel stuck and im wondering if switching to an entirely different medication would better.

NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE! Just wondering if anyone who went through similar experiences has any insight. :)
