Zone 3 ranunculus and peonies

Last week my first ranunculus bloomed and I was highly disappointed. I decided I wouldn’t bother with them again. Barely any petals and a pale yellow colour I didn’t care for. Then we came back from. Camping trip to find tons of beautiful blooms and I can say that ranunculus are worth it.

After four months of waiting, the moment I’ve been waiting for… womp womp.

Can anyone even guess what this is? It’s a ranunculus. I’ve been so excited. Im in zone three. I planted these inside in the beginning of march and this is the first bid to open. The picture on the bag was of pink and orange and white flowers with lots of layers like little roses. Is it just the variety I bought or could this happen from drying out too much?

First paid order. Can I get some advice?

My friend is paying me to make some sugar cookies for her sister in laws bridal shower. I’m going to write “mr and Mrs.” On the rectangles but I’m wondering if anyone has a good idea for something I can write on the hearts? I know there are lots of areas i can improve on and I’ve learned a lot doing this set. Any advice is appreciated.

AIO for wanting to call this salesman out for his mistakes?

My husband and I decided it was time to upgrade our travel trailer. We were looking at buying private at first but we came across this ad for a trailer we loved that was close to our price range. Immediately it caught my attention because a fridge and freezer stocked with steaks is a pretty nice bonus on top of a trailer. We called the sales rep and he told us we could come take a look anytime so we drove out to see it that day.

As soon as we got to the dealership he told us that he must have made a mistake in the ad and that he must have mixed it up with another trailer because this trailer should have been posted for closer to 25 thousand but he wasn’t about to lose the deal over that and that he’d work it out for us. That already gave me the feeling that he wasn’t so professional but he told me he had recently left his job as a car salesman and had only been there a couple weeks and we really loved the trailer so we decided to trade in our old one for it. We agreed we’d leave a deposit for it and come back with our old trailer for them to inspect to work out a deal with our trade in.

As we were driving home I was looking at the ad again when I noticed it had been edited. Not even 30 minutes after we left the dealership he had gone in and removed the part about the steaks and deleted the original price that had caught or attention. The rest of the ad was the same.

My husband brought our old trailer in and of course they offered way less than what it’s worth but that part isn’t unexpected from a dealer. We ended up just within our budget but with the trailer we wanted.

As soon as he went to hook it up to his truck he noticed that it didn’t have power jacks like the ad said. So another mistake in the ad but not one the salesman thought to delete. He brought it home and we noticed a couple other things that were clearly not included that were in the ad (roof ladder and enclosed heated underbelly). Again, those things weren’t deleted when he deleted his blurb about the steaks. but whatever the deal is done. Oh, and there were no steaks in the fridge or freezer. We are happy enough and we’re gonna have a great summer.

The part that finally ticked me off was when my husband told me that while he was signing the papers this man had the audacity to ask him to post his five star review.

AIO for wanting to give him a bad review over this or even sending him a private message putting him in his place? Should I demand free steaks? lol I got the trailer I wanted so should I even be feeling upset?

TLDR: ad said free steaks and there were no free steaks so I want to give him a bad google review.

Is there hope for my ranunculus?

I started these back in march but they had a super slow start. I’ve never grown them so I don’t know how to know when they will grow buds. I’m in zone 3 and wondering what other people think. Any advice is appreciated.

Are these okay?

Hi! Any advice is useful to me. The first two pictures are of my dahlias that seem to be growing so skinny. The last photo is one I started inside and it’s nice and bushy but these ones are looking strange. I’m wondering what I should do. This is my first year and I know my pots look small but I’m gonna attempt to keep them in the pots just because our dirt is the opposite of well draining and I’d rather keep them in the pots with this nice draining mix. I’ve already lost one tuber to rot and I feel so disappointed. I’m in zone three and I’m keeping them in a greenhouse. I have a little heat fan that I’ve been turning on when it gets cold.

I should have taken a picture today. Outside of our grocery store they had tables and tables of all different types of beautiful dahlias in bloom for cheaper than the ones I’ve ordered that still haven’t shipped. Im in zone three and worried I won’t even see blooms at this point. I’m regretting buying them when I could have just bought them from the store and dug up the tubers in the fall. Anyone have experience with grocery store dahlias to make me feel better?

I’m so disappointed in these. I LOVE sour candy. My husband got me this giant bag for my birthday and they aren’t sour at all. I don’t even understand how it can have the word sour on the bag. I’m curious if anyone else feels the same way or if they’re a hit elsewhere.
