Freee🙃

Well I got fired yesterday morning. I had been offfor 3 straight days and my boss put me back on the schedule for a 4 hour morning shift. She also had a schedule posted that showed me off for a whole week. I got in the store early and asked why I’m off and she says “I can’t talk to you til you’re on the clock”. She makes me clock in so as to “not waste my time” and tells me that the district manager wanted me out of the system. If you wonder why, it’s because the dm says I’ve had too many voids and too many warnings.

Now voids are something that in my opinion unavoidable, especially one the night shift and weekends which are busier than the rest of the days. Everybody knows that but, I manage to get the worst end of the stick, because the district manager is just that anal about it that she’s taken it upon herself to write up multiple people and fire me and another person about it. This is all f***ing ridiculous in my honest opinion but what’s more ridiculous is that I got put on a shift just to be told I no longer have a job. She said she didn’t want to say it over text or anything for it to get “misinterpreted” so that somehow that meant to have me drag myself out of bed at 7:30am with 2 hours of sleep just to get turned around and told to appeal the termination, when they could have called me or (and here’s the fun part) they know where I live. I’m not even mad about losing the job because it wasn’t even worth it but a brother got bills to pay and it was already hard enough to get that job from the last one and 2 years of knowing the good customers just down the drain.
There’s nothing I think I can do here but what should I or could I have done here by your experiences?

I know my typing/writing is shite please bare with me

Liking somebody who doesn’t like you back in that way

I don’t know how this works, so here goes nothing. Ok I have been working at dollar general for too long and, have seen people come and go. This year someone comes in and she works there with me and she’s real beautiful. I start talking to her, getting to know her, and I genuinely caught feelings off her vibe and looks. I am not the most secure person do I never told her(until recently) even when I thought she was giving me what I thought were signals. It got so bad I legitimately was mad at myself when I didn’t tell her how I felt, and thought about her on off days. A few weeks ago I finally told her I’d been into her for months, I liked her vibes and her smile and the way that she looked at me made me nervous which is why I never said anything. I said all that and then radio silent for 3 weeks in her side.

I got antsy and nervous and even worse because I told her and it’s like my feelings amped up. I thought about her smiling at me, kissing me, hugging me, hell loving me even, but still her no words. So I asked her “hey so I told you I was into you like 3 weeks ago and since then nothing. I just wanna know more or less if I need to chill and move on because, my brain has that level of common sense but my heart is stupid so what’s the vibe here?”.she asked what I mean and I told her shits basically been confusing because on 1 hand I know the answer but the other part of me is just going to”god she’s so pretty” like a lovesick kid. She asked if she ever gave off the vibe that she was kinda interested in me. She made a good point and I told her not really but my brain ain’t there all the time. That’s when she finally said that it’s not that she’s not interested or really not that she is opposed to me in a friendly way but she’s talking to somebody. finally I got the green light to move along but it kinda ticked me off because it felt like something that could’ve been said weeks ago so I didn’t get to this level. Here I am after depressed and content on never following my heart again because it’s clear it pulls a veil over my eyes so I can’t see the truth. At the same time I worked with her today and it’s like she’s smiling at me and communicating with me more. I’m cool with the whole being friends thing that’s not a problem, but the problem is that her smile still runs through my mind constantly and I kinda can’t help but get googly brained over her when she’s near me. What do I do?

P.s. I know my typing or writing is mostly horrible but my brain is a jumble of words right now please be patient with me🙏🏾

Buggy system

So I was counting alls well that can be and, my drawer in the system says I should have $3300 in it. Now I’ve done pickups and am not so monetarily illiterate(and my GODDAMN GLASSES WORK) to believe that I have anymore than like $1200 in my drawer. I went and counted the deposit, it turned out to be over by $11, which leads to the question of why my drawer was showing it should have 70 percent of the deposit in it. Does anybody know the system to explain this?

Velina Pitty

I have been grinding for pulls since this chapter came out. I’ve hit hard pity once and am about to do it again. I’ve got almost 150 pulls under the belt here and this game keeps screwing with me. This happening to anybody else?

How are we doing something wrong?

Over the past few months, my store has been held responsible for what are labeled as “excessive voids,” which our district manager claims are completely avoidable, despite never having worked in our store. She has come in at random times to write us up for this and insists that, based on camera footage, you can tell when a customer is asking a question versus asking you to ring something up—which doesn’t really make sense.
It feels like they don’t take into account the complexity of our customer base. There are constantly situations where a customer realizes they forgot their wallet and asks us to cancel their transaction while they go get it, or they attempt to purchase items that their stamps don’t cover and then ask to void the entire transaction and leave. These situations happen multiple times a day. No matter how often they witness or are told about them, we are still told that these voids are “avoidable,” which makes it hard to understand how we are supposedly in the wrong.
There is also an ongoing concern with our store manager, who it feels like is targeting us. Most of us have been at this location for one to two years and understand how recovery is supposed to be done, as well as what is expected to keep management satisfied. However, recently she has repeatedly insisted that our recovery is not at 100%. She has started sending frequent messages early in the morning—often around 6:50 a.m.—repeating that recovery must be perfect and that being busy is not an excuse.
She often sends photos claiming areas are not cleaned or completed, even when the store appears spotless to us. She doesn’t clearly explain what is actually wrong; instead, she repeats the same warnings without clarification and threatens write-ups, sometimes even preemptively issuing them for the entire team regardless of individual performance.
When she contacts us at these early hours, I find myself wanting to ask why she can’t simply explain exactly what needs to be fixed so we can correct it. That approach would seem more productive than threatening disciplinary action for issues we aren’t clearly informed about. However, when confronted with facts or questions, she tends to respond in a way that makes the situation more difficult for us.
At this point, I’m not sure how to handle the situation effectively.
