This was a Hilton from the early 70s to the early 90s
How times change! Meridian Ave in Oklahoma City. This leads to the airport. The entire strip is rundown. Not pictured are people standing outside their rooms smoking and one guy working on his car. I worked here for a few years in the early 90s, and it was on the decline then. It descended to a Radisson while I worked there before it went independent.
When I had started working there, they had just put in a really cheap computer system to manage room check-ins and billing and a cheap phone system that didn’t always send people their wake up calls. It was sort of a toxic workplace; my coworkers, including myself, lacked polish. The airlines had their agreements there to put up their pilots and flight attendants, who often acted entitled, sometimes merited and sometimes not.
This was sort of a field trip for me. I left OKC in 1994 and just went back for a trip in August, when I took these pictures. I should have gone inside, but I didn’t have much time although I was also kind of scared because prostitutes and drug addicts stay here now.
