Probability 0 ~ impossible!???

What is the meaning of a probability of 0? For example, consider the set (0,1) and let x be in (0,1). What is the probability of picking that x? The answer is 0. But if the probability of randomly picking x from the set (0,1) is 0, does that mean it's impossible to pick that number?

There is another similar example, if you throw a dart at a 2D plane, the probability that the dart lands on a specific point on that plane is 0. That implies it can't happen, but it actually did happen, it landed on a point! So what does it mean, exactly?

What courses can I get into at IISc Bangalore through IIT JAM MS and GATE ST?

Hello. I am an undergraduate student currently in the third year of a 4-year B.Sc. program in Mathematics and Computing. I am considering exiting after my third year with a standard 3-year B.Sc. degree.

I am aware that I can apply for an Integrated Ph.D. in Mathematics through JAM, but I am unsure about other statistics and data Science programs accessible via JAM. I am not very familiar with the GATE exam or what opportunities it opens up for someone with my background. Please help me.

What should I choose for IB?

Hello guys, I am a final year math and computing undergrad in India, and preparing for MStat ISI 2027. Right now, I am targeting quantitative trading roles. But I am also thinking about investment banking, for which I need an MBA degree (if I am correct). I really don't know which job I will land, but I've set myself to sit for both the ISI and CAT entrances. I don't know which subject I should choose in an MBA for the IB path, so please help me figure it out.

Quant v/s Investment banking

I know the exact path for the Quant, but for the Investment banker, is it possible for a stats graduate? If yes, then how?

How can I get into the Quant finance world?

I'm pursuing a B.Sc. (Hons.) with Research in Mathematics and Computing in India. It's a 4 year course, and I'm currently in my 3rd year. I'm preparing for the ISI M.Stat 2027, and if I clear it, I'll take the exit at the end of my 3rd year. I have decent knowledge in pure math (linear algebra, real analysis, probability, geometry), and stats. I also know R, C++, and python, and I use ubuntu as my OS. But I really want to try out some quant stuff (is it possible now? If yes, then what?). And how can I actually land a quant job?

I am a math and computing undergrad, currently finishing up my 4th semester. I don't know anything in finance, not even a single simple term, and I want to dive into it. I need sources that would help me from the very beginning up to the level where my degree can actually help. So help me guys, where should I start?
