Wells Fargo closed my Zelle claim, but the recipient says her bank is waiting on Wells Fargo to recover the $500

I accidentally sent $500 through Zelle to the wrong person. I realized it immediately and contacted Wells Fargo to report it.
The recipient actually responded and has been cooperative. She told me that she contacted her bank and started a process from her end to return the $500. I have written/email proof of her saying this. She also recently told me:
“You will need to open another case in order to accept the funds… it is waiting on you on this end.”
Now I received a letter from Wells Fargo saying my claim was closed unpaid because the transaction was authorized by me. They said:
“An attempt will be made to recover the funds from the transfer however, recovery of the funds cannot be guaranteed.”
The letter also says that if Wells Fargo receives additional information, they can open a new case.
So I’m confused about what happens next.
Does this mean Wells Fargo’s recovery attempt is still pending, or did they completely stop the recovery process when they closed the claim?
If the recipient’s bank really has a return/recovery request waiting for Wells Fargo, what exactly should I ask Wells Fargo to do?
I have the recipient’s written confirmation and can provide it to Wells Fargo.
Any advice from people who have dealt with Wells Fargo/Zelle recovery would be appreciated.

23 M4F | Can Hold a Conversation Better Than Most

23 | 5’10” | Finance & Data | New York
I’m someone who enjoys art, trying new food, binge-worthy British/English TV shows, and traveling to places where Google Maps eventually gives up.

A few things about me:
I’ve been told I’m genuinely funny. I’ll let you be the judge.
I’m a good listener and don’t believe in judging people.
I actually reply to texts instead of treating them like museum exhibits.

A few things that might be dealbreakers:
My sense of humor is pretty dark. Sometimes my brain laughs before my conscience catches up.
I’m currently overweight. I was bedridden for a few months after an accident, but I’m making steady progress and getting back on track.
I value honesty and logic over pretending or telling people what they want to hear.

If you are willing to get to know me better, feel free to hmu. The worst that can happen is actually YOU ghosting me! Bet?!

23 M4F | Looking for Someone to Talk To

23 M4F. Looking for someone who’s up for genuine daily conversations. Age doesn’t matter as long as you’re an adult.

I’m trying to get better at talking to women, build confidence, and improve my social skills naturally, so consider this low-pressure practice with an actual human.

Fr no weird expectations, and no games. I’ll always be respectful, polite, and easy to talk to. If we click, great. If not, we still had a conversation and the world keeps spinning.

Just looking for good chats, shared laughs, and a chance to become a better conversationalist.

My STEM OPT Timeline (approved)

No premium processing.

Applied: Jan 28
RFE for biometrics: Feb 08
Original biometrics date: March 05
Rescheduled biometrics to: Feb 18
Approved: May 15 🎉

Posting this because I know how brutal the waiting game feels. Every silent week starts feeling like USCIS personally hired a raccoon to sort applications in a burning warehouse.

If you’re still waiting, don’t lose hope because timelines are genuinely all over the place right now. RFEs are not the end, rescheduling biometrics is not the end, and seeing others get approved faster does not mean something is wrong with your case.

Hang in there. Trust the process.
