All electric charging bays taken and not a single one plugged in

I'm no expert but at least 2 of these 5 aren't even electric/hybrid?

Who's making the trip out to Germany this weekend?

Myself and my partner flying out to Basel tomorrow, taking our 6 (nearly 7) year old to his first Palace away game. Just looking into trains from Basel to Freiburg now. Really looking forward to all of it except the ridiculously hot weather forecast.

It's range sessions like today that reminded me why I stopped playing for 7 years.

I've recently started going to the range again after a long time not playing. Have been doing OK, quite pleasantly surprised actually. The problem is the more I get into golf the more I over think it. The more swing thoughts I have. The more seriously I take it. When I don't play for a long time and then hit balls again I'm good. No expectations, no thoughts, just hitting balls. Today I started hitting shanks when I've never shanked the ball before, because I was trying to concentrate on tucking the right elbow in on the downswing. Shanked three 8 iron shots as a result. I set my driver to B2, which is a slight draw bias, as my miss with a driver is a slice, and hit massive slices. Walked away feeling COMPLETELY disheartened and wanting to give it up again. I've got a round at a Top 100 club in a couple of weeks, my first since 2019, and now I'm dreading it.

Anyone else struggle like this?

EDIT: I just wanted to thank everyone for the helpful and supportive replies. One of the main reasons I decided to get back into golf is because I wanted to do something for me again and thought it would be good for my head. I now just need to find somewhere near me I can go for 9 holes rather than slogging it out on the range all the time

Titleist TSR2

I managed to get hold of a 2nd hand TSR2 driver, 10 degree, Tensei Blue 55 regular shaft, in decent nick for £190. Seemed too good a deal to pass up to replace my very old Nike SQ 460. Anyone on here play with one? I don't own a torque wrench but got him to reset it to A1. Will get myself one to make adjustments. I've had a 7 year break from the game so looking at slowly improving my now rather old gear.

Online fitting when my 7 iron yardage is usually 155.

Going through the online fitting tool and it's recommending I should get the 101MKII. However my 7 iron yardage is usually about 155. If I select 135-155 it recommends regular flex. If I select 155-175 it recommends stiff flex. Anyone else has similar and which did you opt for? FYI, 6ft 1. I feel like my swing tempo is moderate. 3ft wrist to floor. 18.5 handicap.

Thin golf socks

Long story short. Getting back into golf after 7 years out. Trying to do everything on a budget somewhat. Got some new with tags Puma spikeless shoes on Vinted. Usually take a 9 or 9.5 but got them in 10 to account for feet swelling. They are TIGHT on width. Length fine. Can't send them back so going to see if they stretch and will also properly loosen the laces and maybe even re-lace, missing some eyelets out. What are some good, comfortable but thin golf socks or socks that are suitable for golf? Also, anyone else found Puma tight on width? TIA.

EDIT: I should clarify I've no plans to play in them if they don't loosen up. I'll just chalk it up as a loss to the Golf Gods.

Spotted earlier whilst cutting back some slightly wild tall grasses we've got. Made me smile.

Satay chicken

I love looking like this. Chicken Satay for dinner so had the diced thighs marinading in coconut milk, soy, ginger, turmeric, ground coriander, squeeze of honey, fish sauce and lime juice for a few hours. Skewered and cooked directly over coals. Bbq is a mini drum I got from Robert Dyas a couple of years back. I've got a Weber Kettle but this is perfect for little things like this. I love the simplicity. No messing with vents, no probes, no direct vs indirect. Just sat in a chair occasionally turning the skewers. Occasionally rotating the rack. Served with a peanut sauce (obviously), sticky rice, quick pickled cucumber salad, finely sliced spring onions, and a drizzle of crispy chilli peanut oil.

Excellent late lunch/early dinner today

Half a lamb leg, deboned and butterflied. In fridge for a few hours with a marinade of a 'Greek lamb mix' of dried herbs my mother in law brought back from Kefalonia (definitely rosemary and oregano in there. Think coriander too amongst other stuff), olive oil, salt and garlic. Indirect on the Weber kettle at about 140-160c until internal of thickest part hit about 54c. Put romano peppers and leaks in with it too, then gave them colour at the end. Smashed the lamb back over hot coals to colour and crisp the skin. Served with flatbreads done on the grill and whipped feta (block of feta, Greek yog, olive oil, lemon zest). Fantastic.

This makes me even more convinced the leaked stripe kit will be our home kit.

Mizuno Bettinardi C03 rust spots

I'm getting back into the game after a 7 year break (for many reasons I won't go into). My pride and joy putter has some rust spots. Are these anything to worry about and how can I remove them?

Returning to the game and need some help and advice.

Bit of a long post, so please bear with me. My first time posting on this sub. I used to play pretty regularly, was quite obsessed with it at points. Official handicap was 18, but got divorced and left the club we were both members at. Kept playing semi regularly and definitely played better than 18 at times. When I was good I was really good. Drives over 250 yards at times. But I just didn't play enough. If I'd practiced and played regularly I could have got down to low teens or single figures.

ANYWAY, last time I swung a club was September 2019. My son was born in November 2019 and my life changed. I've spent the last nearly 7 years focusing on my family (rightly so, they are my life) but I now need to focus on myself again. I went to a driving range at the weekend, and it all clicked again. I need to start playing again, but I probably need new clubs. I worked out the set I used to play with are probably 25 years old. I'm so out of the loop I don't even know where to start. I'm not flush with cash, and I know irons aren't exactly cheap. Happy to go used but don't know what I'm looking for. Would love to get new clubs and get fitted but so expensive. I see Takomo mentioned a lot and they look great, but would rather try before buying. I've also seen Callaway Mavriks mentioned a lot. What would be a good set to look at, new or used? Not hugely expensive.

Apologies for my long rambling post, and many thanks for any advice that comes my way.

Crispy roast chicken and a delicious Chardonnay

Spatchcocked, dry brined, into a hot hot oven. Served with a simple salad of cold new potatoes, romaine leaves, capers, olive oil and dijon mustard. Washed down with an absolute banger of a Chardonnay.
