I'm not addicted to Ativan. I know that for a fact because I can go weeks without taking it. I pretty much only take before stressful social events like a big meeting or public speaking.
I really don't even have panic attacks anymore either.
But if I can't find that bottle of Ativan I get anxious and can't stop thinking about it for awhile.
Anyone else do this? I'm not that concerned about it I'm just curious how common it is.
My wife 45f and I 46m have zero friends. I had a really close friend since childhood, but be died last October. She's never had a close friend. We don't even have family that comes over. I have an older son who is 19 that comes over every other weekend since he was little.
My wife isn't bothered by this at all, but I feel like it's not healthy for our 7 year old son.
He has a friend that lives a few miles away who comes over but not often.
Today he was invited to that kids house but he refused to go in. He made excuses and we finally just let the kid come to our house like always.
Do you all think it's unhealthy or am I just being paranoid?
How could we do better? I'm agnostic but I've even been thinking about going to church.
Forgot to mention we live in a fairly small town with only about 30k people.
My wife and I have been together 10 years.
She will sometimes leave the house to go to a store without even telling me. She used to do it a lot, but I asked if she could just let me know before heading out. For years she did. Now she is doing it again.
Back when we first discussed it she called me controlling. I really think she uses that term to flip arguments around on me. I have never told her she needed my permission in any way. Just let me know. Hell even wrote a note.
Today I woke up and called out for her. She's nowhere to be found and her phone was on the coffee table
How can I tell her waking up to an empty house with no way to contact her makes me anxious without it being controlling?
Tldr: wife leaves the house without a word. Calls me controlling for asking her to let me know.
On Jul 13, 2023 I was working from home. Someone knocked on my door. I opened it and it was the neighbor kid across the street. I knew he was 17 or 18. He had a friend with him.
He said he had been locked out of his house and asked me to take him to a store nearby to meet someone. I told him I couldn't leave since I was working.
It was pouring down rain at the time so I told him they were welcome to wait inside out of the rain until his parents got back. He thanked me and they came in.
I pointed them to the couch, gave them a quick break down on working my streaming box. Then I got the friend a pair of dry socks since his were obviously soaked through.
I made them sandwiches and drinks and told them to make themselves at home and watch some TV while I got back to work.
Not long after the neighbor stuck his head in my office and said they were leaving. All good.
About 4 minutes after that the friend came back in and asked to use the restroom. I said sure.
When he left again I heard a vehicle door shut that sounded oddly familiar. I glance out and they're driving off in my truck.
I ran outside waving my arms. They looked straight at me and drove off.
I immediately called 911 and posted all over Facebook.
I eventually walked through the rain to his house where his stepmom answered the door and said they'd never been gone that day.
My post went viral locally and about an hour later I was getting several messages telling me where he had been spotted. This dummy was just casually driving around town.
They finally caught them right in front of the police department. Not even kidding. Someone recorded the arrest and you can see it in the background.
They went back and forth to court and all that. At some point we ran into each other and he asked me to drop the charges. My anger had since passed so I said whatever and dropped them. DA told me it didn't really matter that I did and he ended up getting 7 years. With time spent in jail and good time he'll be getting released next month.
Aa far as I know he's never been a violent person, but I imagine actual prison can change a person. I'm not worried about myself, but I have a wife and a 7 year old.
What would you do to prepare for their inevitable release? I already have a 12 gauge shotgun in the closet.
Tldr: two guys stole my truck. Got arrested and now they're about to be released soon. What would you do to make sure you and you're family are protected in case they retaliate?
Edited: due to the wildest typo at least one user has ever seen.
I saw a Meetup post a few days ago and several people from meridian commented.
Anyone interested in one for Meridian if I set it up?
About me: I'm from Meridian. I'm socially awkward as hell and as a result a bit too quiet. My only friend died in October. It's been kinda rough.
About five months ago I posted here asking about the Planetarium. Everything I've been reading says it would open April, may or June. Now it's gone silent again.
I'm in Meridian. Can anyone local comment on it? Are there signs around the building announcing an opening date maybe? Or some news through the grapevine?
