reddit.comI found out who my boyfriend's ex is and now I can't stop comparing myself.
I recently found out that my boyfriend's ex is someone I actually know. She is my senior in law school and was even my mentor for a while.
She is genuinely brilliant she participates in moots, is academically accomplished, and she is also really beautiful. From what my boyfriend told me they dated for about a year and broke up because they were incompatible. They still follow each other on social media because according to him neither of them wanted to keep any ego after the breakup.
The problem is... ever since I found out it was her, I've been feeling incredibly insecure.
I keep comparing myself to her. I feel like she is overall "better" than me. My brain keeps telling me, "If someone like her wasn't the right person for him what chance do I have?" Who am I just extroverted, guffadi, with a lot of hobbies, runchi, alxi, who is taking therapy and medications mental issue le Ani paddai ma ramrai just jack of all trade masters on none.
The other thing is his ex said age gap as reason of breakup and here I am with double her age gap. He studies in masters second year and I study at bachelors second year. I don't think any couple has this age gap in college. Someone who had half our age gap felt incompatible due to age gap then how can I be the compatible one?
What's ironic is that I have exes and one of them studies with me in same class just a bench aparat. He knows my ex well and he isn't bothered by them. He even knows about them. But somehow I'm the one spiraling over his past.
I know this isn't fair to him or to her. She hasn't done anything wrong and neither has he. These feelings are coming from me, and I hate that I'm letting comparison steal my peace. I can't sleep as well huhu
Maile bf daju lai. Do you poop or not? You look too cute to poop and I can't imagine you pooping vanera vane. He laughed and said I love you goodnight. Huhu he must be thinking of me as a weird ass which ik I'm tai ni😭😭
reddit.comFor TLDR people
TL;DR: My life changed when I was 12 after losing my grandmother, the person I loved the most. Soon after, I developed severe dissociation (derealization/depersonalization), where I felt detached from my body and couldn't tell dreams from reality. I almost drowned during one episode, couldn't even bathe alone because the attacks were so frequent, and still tried to keep up with school as a top student. Over the years, I went through multiple medications, bullying because of medication-related weight gain, COVID isolation that worsened my mental health, OCD symptoms, suicidal thoughts, and even the trauma of being groomed by one of my teachers.
Despite everything, I continued my education, earned excellent grades, moved away from home, learned independence, left a toxic relationship, and later experienced new symptoms that led to a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. Changing psychiatrists and starting therapy became the turning point. Therapy taught me how to understand and regulate my emotions, and today I'm in a healthy relationship, doing well in university, preparing to stop medication after years of treatment, and finally feel like myself again.
I'm sharing this not for sympathy, but to spread awareness. Mental illness doesn't always look the way people expect. You can be outgoing, smile every day, have friends, perform well academically, and still be struggling silently. Recovery is possible, and asking for help truly can change your life.

Thrift Thrift
For me thrifting is a way to experiment with new aesthetics without the regret of spending too much money on something I might not even end up wearing 😭. What is thrifting for you?
