Lead to Gold: Usefulness?
I was going through the working classes mod and found this philosopher stone from the alchemist class.
While seemingly more intended to work with the alchemy mod this stone does offer better crafting recipes for flasks and creating clear quartz.
What I found more interesting is this Lead to Gold recipe, but it seems prohibitively expensive for 1 nugget.
Maybe I haven't played the game enough or not the correct mods that would require such high amounts of gold to make this worthwhile?
But I was looking for a longer playthrough with a friend and was wondering if this is worth it if we go late game and might(?) have a reason for gold?
And that's all folks
While I employ more in my brewery compared to his nation's population his army size is the same size as my main city population.
Doesn't make any sense how he has a realm at all but oh well Army with a "state".
This is the end of that campaign.
What to do to increase happiness?
I am not sure what I am missing that I am stuck under 80% happiness.
From the looks in the game I am doing everything correctly.
I can only imagine I don't have a very essential service or access that I drop that low all the time and can't get back into the greens.
What to research?
I went through a Number of posts to figure out what exactly you should research with your limited research points at the start but can't find one.
I only really need a starting idea of what to do. Let's say up to 500pops.
What do I put those points in for a decent start so I don't struggle for food at 400pops.
Do I hyper invest into 1 crop or animal? So I just go grain for cheapish bread so I can buy it if needed even if I don't have bread preference?
Should I just invest in the resources that are better in my climate to get the boni?
Worth it to invest into any industry early? Better carpenter? Mason? Gem mine?
I love pirate campaign fleets.
Carrier is nothing special just all the passive boosts (nav+EMC) and 2 broadswords, claw and any bomber.
The Lobster is just an eradicator in disguise.
But the Eagle (p) with hangar is my favorite ship in the game with a built purely focused on causing pain with reapers.
Early Game: Rule by Tyranny
Picked up the game somewhat recently.

I have watched enough videos to kinda understand what I am doing and was able to unite Japan by 1000 but my main problem was having a decent transition from Ruler to heir.

It boils down to Ruler dies I loose all of my land so I make no money, take away someones title, everyone hates me, everyone wants to kill me, I kill them, get the land back I had before and then redistribute the land to loyalists (who hate me later anyway due to massive Tyranny.

Is this how you are supposed to play this early?

I don't see another way to actually have holdings and earn money or just expand constantly and outrun the inevitable partition.

Any tips?
