Buyer claims package was delivered to wrong ZIP, am I screwed?
I sold an electronics item for $800 on eBay. I shipped it and it was delivered on the 20th. 10 DAYS LATER, this buyer claimed it was delivered to the wrong zip. Only thing is, the zip they claimed it was delivered to redirects to their home zip, their home address is a third party shipping company, and USPS delivered to a completely different zip.
So basically, buyers zip: **122
Buyer claims it was sent to: **198
USPS tracking says it was delivered and signed for at: **152
(*: same #)
I called eBay support twice providing them with the proper information and they said both the buyer and I would win. Fine, I don’t care. I put in the same tracking info into the claim portal AS DIRECTED TO BY AN EBAY AGENT, Only to wake up this morning to find eBay sided with the buyer because I “didn’t issue a refund” and they took $800 straight out of my bank account with no date warning?!
I already opened a missing package claim with usps and I swear this is a problem with usps. I DONT SHIP THE PACKAGES, so why in the WORLD should I have to pay out of pocket to cover this scammers loser rear end. Absolutely insane.
I filed for an appeal with like 7 screenshots and a huge explanation. Please tell me I’m not screwed and out $800, because it’s going to take me forever to recoup that loss…
