I had just left an interview that didn’t even happen because when I got there the man told me the position had been filled. Kept my chin up, asked to leave my resume if something else popped up, he reluctantly took it. I was sitting in my car trying not to cry and was ready to go back in there and physically assault that man because this is the second time he’s done this. I should’ve had an interview for the same position last week but it was canceled because it was filled.

Earlier today I printed my resume & went into all the places I had not heard back from yet and left my resume with a smile. While I was in my car deciding to use my fist or my tire iron on him, I got a call with a job offer from one of the places. It’s actually for a better position because the manager for the department I applied for wasn’t in but another one was & snatched my resume.

There has to be someone here in retail that’s a store manager or team lead who’s tired of their employees not showing up or are surrounded by unserious teenagers. If you want someone over the age of 25 with 10+ years of retail experience please drop where I should apply. Ideally I’m looking for full time but if part time is all you have I will still apply.

I’m on a full month of job hunting now. I’ve had interview after interview and still nothing. I’ve been baited & switched on positions, ghosted, cancelled on, told the position was basically mine only for HR to say they didn’t have my information for hire. Welp. Today broke me. My interview was canceled, called the location to see if it was an error because I didn’t see the option to reschedule. Admin told me it was because I didn’t have the availability they were looking for, I told him I selected everything but overnight, he said “Well it’s not showing that way”. I told him I had completed available & worked for the company before. Asked if I could still come in, he told me no and to edit my application. Problem? I can’t. They’ve updated their system, it’s no longer on workday it’s all AI. The system kept telling me I could not change anything. Called the 1800 number just to be met with more AI. It said hold while we transfer and hung up. Immediately cried my eyes out.

I used to work at Lowes and I am absolutely desperate to get back in. I wasn’t terminated, I left for a career that I went to school for. I’ve been applying but have not gotten anything back about interviewing, I got an email in the middle of the night that I missed and couldn’t schedule and that’s it. Is there anyone in VA in Portsmouth or Chesapeake whose department is short and is accepting applications so I can know where to call after submitting.
I know that begging for an in on reddit is insane but again, I’m desperate.

I’m 28 and I’m absolutely blown away by how looking for a job has changed. I got fired from what should’ve been my forever job. Wasn’t too stressed, though I apply for a retail job and reapply for the company I was let go from in a year. It’s making me feel almost violent with the pulling around. I got bait and switched twice, got to the interview and it was for a different position with lower pay. Another place is trying to ghost me, I’ve called twice now to follow up and the dude interviewed with keeps telling me “Yeah, let me check the computer and I’ll give you a call”. MIND YOU during the interview he asked me to place an application for a different position that he was “desperately” trying to fill, if you went with someone else just say it.

Context: I was fired due to attendance, they’re very strict and 1-3 minutes late racks up fast. I was in retail FOREVER, as far as the interviewers know I’m leaving healthcare to return to retail.

So I have a few kinks and a lot of them involve talking. On the plus side he’s very open and up to it. Down side is he has zero creativity. Imagine giving someone a writing prompt, they get out their pen and paper, then ask with an enthusiastic smile “What do you want me to write”. I have told him what to say before but it just ruins it for me every time

Edit for more context: Trust me I’m not being vague with him. Let’s use degrading as an example. I’m telling him what it is, role play ideas, and language that I’m ok with. The issue is he wants a step by step of what to say, when to say it, and what to. I don’t want scripted sex, completely kills the mood. He is aware I feel this way but we continue to fall into the same loop. I’m looking for more guidance/ideas on how to tell him what to do without making a script
