Belly of the Weblum(2016 Voltron blind review)

First thing is that this is a very well written episode. Second is that the vibe has changed, the jokes changed, the animation changed it just feels different than the previous season and a half. Also since they think the fight is about to be over, reasonably, the way they act like they many never see each other again, and to their credit they do think they are about to defeat Zarcon and his army in two seasons (and we do know they’re more seasons so we do know the fight isn’t over). We are all aware of Alura’s dislike of Galra to the point of practically being recast, let’s be clear Zarcon and most of his army have done some really screwed up stuff but she has a hard time trusting the ones they know are actively screwing over Zarcon. As well as when she find out that one of the paladins has Galra family (how much Galra he has is still up in the air for now so please don’t spoil that part) she instantly becomes suspicious of him for no reason other that he’s part Galra. Now joke review section: mouse kiss; it’s really funny and it’s been so obvious he liked Alura that she and the whole gang has probably picked up by now, And I could totally see hunk acting in the manner he did while asking about Keith’s Galra ancestry. So yeah, here’s my mini rant.

Wonderstrom’s next projects?

We all know how much of a hit the Dragon Prince was, and hopefully The Dragon King will be amazing too, but dose anyone know if they will be working on any other projects outside of the Dragon Prince universe? I know animation is very time consuming (I did it for a class once) so I am very aware it’s going to be many years until they’ll do much, but if anyone has any knowledge of wether they’re expanding there animation projects, that would be nice.

This needs to be brought up

I know since between season 2 and the movie the group go from 11-13 this dose make sense but, anyone else notice the change in the main trios’ voices?

This needs to be said

While many people have (reasonable) problems with the writing of the show, the art style is freaking amazing, and honestly the art department did not need to go this hard for it.

Blade of Marmora (2016 Voltron blind review)

Honestly, this was my least favorite episode so far but there were still parts I did like. The emotional journey was very interesting but I really didn’t like the half of the episode in the base, honestly it just wasn’t very good, I honestly just don’t have the words to describe I don’t like the whole rebel cell. During the transport from the castle and the blade of marmora, Shiro brought up him needing a replacement if anything happened to him and knowing his past and all his memories coming back, there may be something going on that may require a professional. So yeah here’s my mini rant.

Space mall(2016 Voltron review)

Really lighthearted episode (for the most part) and since each character mostly is on their own path I’ll mostly do the separately. At the start , the team actually go and (at least attempt) to get the parts they need and as always, Lance tried to get a date with Alura and Koran, unintentionally, acts like how many fathers do and stops this, because he can’t ever get a girlfriend. The mice, being very cool as always, keep her from being bored. Love the mice. Then let’s go to Shiro, his journey travels the least physical distance but probably the most important for the greater story (since I assume by the end of season 8, they defeat the Galra) the whole scene was very well choreographed and even though I am very well aware that, because I’m only half way through season two and there are 8 seasons, he has too live so he form a greater connection with his lion. Lance’s only real role in this episode was , for a lack of a better term “rizz up” some girls and help Pidge be the nerd we all love(and can someone send me a link for the game she bought). Keith spends his time with that blade expert and the blade thing from this episode and an earlier episode being connected to the Garla was a great idea and I have a feeling this will be important later(hopefully). But this episode that’s it with him. As expected, Hunk gets into food trouble because this is Hunk and turns out he’s a great chef so he should do something with this gift later in his life.Koran honestly was really funny this episode with the costumes , trying to find the”black market” and his negotiation with Ivor from mcsm, also who plays the blue lady in the kitchen,I fell like I know her. Over all, great episode. So yeah, here’s my mini rant.

Arc of Taujerr(2016 Voltron review)

It’s funny how early Pidge is nerding about her plan and her team doesn’t follow, but for me it makes complete sense and is entirely understandable, part of the reason she’s my favorite. Honestly I may be overthinking this part but while I do like the idea of The Galra being able to find the gang, how they are isn’t the best way they could have done it, the lion knows where the paloden is but Zarcon is the only paloden to be able to track their lion. Now back to the good parts of the episode, from the design of the newly introduced species, they look to be based on the tardagrade which is very cool and very well done plot around them. Before I end I am obliged to mention how Lance is clearly jealous of how he didn’t get to be alone with the princess because he’s always thinking about that kind of stuff. So yeah here’s my mini rant.

Eye of the storm (2016 voltron review)

Another episode down of watching this series blind! First thing’s first, having them be tired and sick from being team Voltron, was not needed but very much appreciated (at least from me) and showed how the writers treat these characters as actual people and not just set pieces. Also it’s funny how Korran denied how old he was(even though he’s at least 10,040 years old and how the younger people would call him”unc” however most of the Zarcon fight scenes aren’t exactly how I would have gone for but I did like when Zarcon tried to take over Voltron, more specifically the black lion.
Edit: spelling

Greening the cube(2016 Voltron)

Another episode of amazingness! Pidge is now my favorite character now, her nerding about science is exactly what I would do honestly, we would be great friends. I definitely feel like this could be a filler episode but still there is some development for Pidge having her connection with her lion change I just love. Maybe they could return to the planet in some future episodes but I highly doubt it.So yeah here’s my mini rant

“Shiro’s escape”

Just finished season 2 episode 3 and here are my notes:
The intro music has definitely changed, they have added some more stuff to it
We got three more nuggets of world building, I really liked how they allowed Shiro to escape his imprisonment, and I’m still trying to piece together what happened on the ship so plz no spoilers. Also I like how they don’t make all the Galra evil it’s makes the universe feel like something that could happen. Also nice throwback to Koran’s height numbering system. The whole narrating the fight on the ship kinda felt out of place for Koran, it kinda just felt wrong. So yeah, here’s my mini rant.
Edit: 2016 reboot

Anyone else thought Hilda dyed her hair?

When I first watched the show I honestly thought her hair was more close to Joanah’s hair and her hair was dyed blue at some point of course I now know of grandfather being a fairy but it was a theory I had.

Mind swooshing!

Just finished season 2 episode 2, I honestly have a feeling I may have watched this during my partial watch a while back. So having Lance and Hunk interact was something the show needed and really helped this episode out. Through out this episode there are many red flags of the merpeople being in a cult, first there was a faked reason for them to be isolated, second recruitment from venerable people (and as always Lance is flowing the next pretty girl he sees and gets him into trouble) third the secrets fourth the way they treat people who are no longer part of the group. Honestly the cult idea went really well and it kept me invested. However as no show can be perfect there is ONE nit pick I have of this episode, the queen being mind swooshed didn’t sit right with me, and since I’m not going to be that mean about it, I shall provide a respectful way I would have rather it gone, the queen is in on the whole swooshing thing, believing that by occasionally sacrificing a few, she’ll save her people as a whole, potentially becoming the moss snake thing’s either dinner or some sort of symbotic partner, otherwise great episode.
So yeah, here’s my mini rant.
Edit: it has come to my attention that if they were to go with my rewriting it would make the queen to similar to another character that I have not seen yet when I see that episode I shall change my rewriting.

Dear book/conic readers

Since I have only discovered Hilda through the Netflix series (which I thoroughly enjoyed) but never read any comics or books, is there anything the show changed about the comics, is there anything in the comics not in the books and just what else would I be missing by only watching the show?
Edit: I do know I misspelled comic, I promise im literate, I just can’t edit it
