Tint that is not bluish

Looking for tints that do not have that bluish color. I see that Xpel XR Black does not. But it is only available 35% or darker. Are there any other ceramic tints that are not bluish that provide greater VLT?

Sun roof tint suggestions

New car with sun roof, not pano. Hate sun roofs. Too much light. Too much heat. Too much wind and noise when open. Want to be able to see some sun and clouds.

What tint would you recommend?

90/10 shielding gas

Like most, I use 75/25 shielding gas for mild steel MIG. However, 90/10 is recommended for Pulsed MIG (which i am going to try), and mild steel in the 1/8 to 1/4 range.

Called my regular gas supplier. Spoke with someone that sounded barely coherent. Said 90/10 would be a special order.

Should 90/10 be readily available? 40-60 cubic foot bottle.

How to further quiet my 2026 RX 350?

Not saying it is loud, because it is not. That is why I bought it.

But I have severe hearing loss. Even with hearing aids. listening to others in a car is always a struggle. The quieter the better. When I am not trying to hear someone, I prefer absolute silence.

I have done some sound proofing on other vehicles. The typical Dynamat, etc., and had the typical minimal results. I don't really want to go down that path. So I am looking for any suggestions for further noise reduction, particularly in the RX. Here are some of my thoughts...

  • First. Do Lexus or the RX have any known noise sources that I should attack?
  • SUV's are always noisier than Sedans because the back end is open to the drivers seat rather than being enclosed by a trunk/seats. I am thinking about further insulating the spare tire compartment, and then adding an acoustic insulation blanket on the rear deck just under the carpet.
  • Changing Tires and Wheels. The RX has 21" wheels. I am just not a fan of big wheels. Smaller diameter wheels provide a better ride and have more tire options. So thinking of changing my 21" wheels for 19" wheels. And then finding the quietest all weather tires.
  • Adding acoustic window tinting. Yes, there are window tints that actually provide minimal (3db) sound reduction. Particularly to the rear window and sun roof.
  • How can spraying the underbody and/or wheel wells with truck liner or undercoating not reduce the noise? But I never see this recommended. Anyone with experience on this?

Any other thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Need quiet vehicle

Spent decades driving Jeeps and trucks. I have severe hearing loss and now all I want is a smooth riding and REALLY quiet vehicle. Space wise something like the RX would be great. Though the GX appeals to my former off roading.

What vehicle, new or slightly older, or modifications, can you recommend?

Is the 2026 quieter?

The Honda website says the 2026 model now has active noise cancellation, better rear suspension (quiter), and quieter tires.

Anyone know if the 2026 CR-V is now much quieter?

Why Aren't Break Cue Ferrules White?

Seems like most playing cue ferrules are white (or light colored). But most break cue ferrules are dark colored. Why is that? My break cue ferrule is dark and I think I would prefer it be white, like my playing cue.

Support FPC and SAF

Folks. We have been waiting years for the Supreme Court to take up a case on common weapons. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) finally have this case in front of the Supreme Court. The ramifications for this case are huge.

While these 2nd A organizations have been asking you for money for years, now is the time. Please consider contributing 1/2 of what you spend on guns and ammunition in a single month to one or the other (or both) of these organizations.

Thank you. Your children will thank you. Your grandchildren will thank you.

Butt for CF shaft(s)

I have a Predator cue with Revo shaft. It is a very simple black butt with full length pebbled leather wrap. It plays well, but I just hate the feel of this cue. Like hitting a metal rod. The Predator butt has the C4+ (4 piece) butt technology and the Uni-Loc QR joint. Both of these seem to be made to give you maximum metal rod feel.

So I am looking at different shafts that are reputed to have a softer feel, including, Cynergy, V5, and Defy. The native shafts for these cues all have different joint types. And frankly, I find the Jacoby and McDermott butts to be ugly. I like the Cuetec SVB 2 but it uses Cuetec's 3/8-14 joint.

Is there any reason I shouldn't use the Cuetec cue (butt) with the intention of trying the other shafts, and still hoping to achieve a softer feeling hit?

CA Bodyguard 2.0 CC Range Report

Took my new BG 2.0 CC to the range today. Though I would share my impressions.

I am an experienced but infrequent shooter now age 70 with arthritis in my fingers. Prior to shooting, I did the following:

  • Cleaned and lubed the gun.
  • Moved the spring on the Safety to make it possible to actually move it.
  • Polished both feed ramps. The lower feed ramp did not have the Lip that caused feeding problems with earlier BG's.
  • Installed Gideon Pebble green dot sight.
  • Exercised all magazines to soften up the springs.

Shot 100 rounds of Remington 95gr. 955fps FMJ (round nose). I had 2 failure-to-fire in the same magazine in the first 40 rounds. Not sure what happened. Neither primer showed any indication of being struck. Balance of rounds had no problems.

Shot 50 rounds of Hornady American Gunner 90gr. 1000fps XTP. No problems.

Had no problem inserting 10 round magazines with the Slide open. Used the Slide Stop to release Slide.

Impressions and thoughts

The gun feels incredibly tight. Too tight. Feels like it needs another thousand rounds to loosen it up.

It is the Trigger that I like the least about this gun. Crunchy plastic. Feels like it is an 8 pound trigger but I verified it is 4 pounds with my Lyman gauge. The small frame and the short distance from the backstrap to the trigger means your trigger finger is really cramped. You will feel like you want to use the joint between your knuckles rather than the pad on your finger. If you do, you will shoot low and left. After shooting today, I changed the Trigger to a Galloway Solis Short Stroke trigger. Also installed a Hogue grip sleeve. Haven't shot it yet, but it feels a little better.

Like all small guns, this gun demands good trigger control. If you yank the trigger at all, the shots will be several inches low.

Your only shooting a .380, but you're shooting from a very small and lightweight gun. Recoil was not much but I am not convinced it is much better than shooting a 9mm from a slightly bigger and heavier gun.

Have carried the gun AIWB for a day. The lack of weight is very noticeable and pleasant. Other than weight, it doesn't feel or conceal much better than my micro 9mm's.

Using a red dot, with 2 hands, supported, It is pretty accurate and repeatable. See Picture below of a 2 7/8" diameter target. 10 rounds. 7 yards. Added Note. After 150 rounds fired, the lens on the red dot was only a little dirty and cleaned easily. The Comp was not a problem.

On balance, it is OK to shoot. Not something I would want to shoot except to practice for CCW. I would rather shoot my Shield Plus with factory ported 4" barrel. I'll give this gun a few more tries, but I might very well sell it and continue using my micro 9mm's for CCW.

Calendar Reminder Bug when syncing to Outlook

I create Calendar events on my iphone using the iphone Calendar app, and then they are synced with my Outlook account on my PC desktop. Don't use the Outlook app on my iphone.

When I create an event and use the default Reminder time, the event displays on my iphone calendar as having a Reminder of "Default (30 minutes)". When it syncs with Outlook, Outlook says the Reminder is "none".

When creating the iphone calendar event, I can override the default Reminder time and select 30 minutes. If I do this, my iphone calendar app now shows the Reminder as "30 minutes", not "Default (30 minutes). When it syncs with Outlook, Outlook says the Reminder is "30 minutes" as it should.

Seems like when using the default Reminder interval, the iphone is sending some extra junk when it tries to sync with Outlook and Outlook just ignores it.

BG 2.0 Magazines - Magguts

Seeing a lot about how difficult it is to load the magazine and insert into the gun. Would also like to see increased capacity in the 10 round size magazine. Magguts make magazine springs made from flat steel rather than coiled steel. They are easier to load and can offer higher capacity. They are a great product. I sent an email to Magguts.com asking if they are working on something for the Bodyguard 2.0. They said they have heard from others and are considering it. If you have any interest, please contact them and urge them to make some BG 2.0 products.

Practice on a 7 foot table

Newbee player. Decades ago, I played some on 9 foot tables. Now, decades later, I have a 7 foot table in my home.

When I break, it seems like the whole table is cramed with balls. Too many balls. If I am just trying to practice aiming, english, etc., should I continue to use the full set of balls, or should I just rack 9 balls so that there is some room between the balls?

Bodyguard 2.0 Safety Disassembly

I would like to temporarily remove the safety from my Bodyguard 2.0 so that I can have the exposed Safety piece Nickel plated.

Can anyone point me to a video that shows how to disassemble the Bodyguard 2.0 Trigger Block so that I can remove/replace the trigger piece?

Or, does anyone know if the Bodyguard 2.0 trigger block is similar enough to the Shield that I can just follow a video for that gun?

The documentation says the RT6600AX has "high gain" antennas, but does not specify what the gain is. Does anyone know what the antenna gain is?

Has anyone tried replacing the antennas with higher gain antennas to boost the range?

I have pretty bad hearing and have been told I need a CI. I have been doing a bit of research, and hence why I am on the sub.

I can’t remember ever seeing a person with a CI. Are they really rare? Do people just cover them with hair? Are were just too preoccupied with our own lives to notice?
