Well I guess I'm back

I'll start this off by saying I lost my last GSD suddenly back on April 28th and this is the longest I've ever went in my life without a dog. It was not fun. I found this guy running down a farm road Sunday morning. We made eye contact at 50mph and something screamed at me to stop. After a few hours I was able to locate the owner through the owners neighbor. She said she just gave the guy my number and he's going to call after church. Something told me while she's saying this I'm never going to hear a thing. Well I was correct. Meanwhile this beautiful dog has turned out to be just about perfect. He's definitely never been in a house but he's adjusting so fast plus I have multiple fenced yards for him. He's great with the cats. He's so sweet and smart. He must have something else in him because colorwise he looks exactly the color of a golden retriever. I was supposed to find this dog. This was meant to be. Meet, Radar.

The raccoons are super active in this heat. Be aware.

My run and coop have been predator proof for the last 5 years but I caught one giving it a go at 4am this morning. I got shots off but was too unprepared for the seconds I had. Got to work and my coworker tells me he lost his entire flock over the weekend except the beautiful Barred Rock rooster I gave him. He found a spot on his coop that had just enough room for them to squeeze in. I'll be setting my traps tonight. Every summer they try me at least once.

My mom lost her phone Thursday. I just found it. She mowed 2 acres this morning without that thing moving or breaking. Incredible.

What do you guys recommend for a low pretien diet for a chicken with gout?

After battling what I thought was bumble foot for 6 weeks I've finally discovered this hen that's staying with me for the summer has gout. And of course I have my flock on a super high protein diet so it made sense. Wondering if anyone else has delt with this?

Finally introducing my resident Daddy cat to his 4 new babies.

Well after a little over 4 weeks of growing and health checks on the 4 tiny kittens I found today I finally felt it was time to introduce them to their new dad. Socks took me over 2 years to earn his trust but once he did he did fully. After I got him home from neutering he spent a few days just hanging out then suddenly took off for a few hours. When he came back he had 2 tiny orange kittens with him. Took me about 3 weeks to earn their trust. He's the best dad I ever saw. Jumped my 100lb GSD one day when he started a kitten and made it hiss. Back in February one of the two orange boys disappeared and I decided no more and built half my barn into a Catio. Socks and his Kid Marshall, absolutely love it. That's why I really didn't think twice about keeping these little guys. He's content just sitting there and watching them right now and purring.

Update on the 4 babies I found Tuesday

2 little boys and 2 little girls. They are the sweetest little kittens. Tomorrow they are all getting baths as they are nasty without a momma to groom them. Even though I fully intend to keep all 4 I've already had people say they want one. If I do decide to do that you have to take two or nothing. Sure enough the little girl that was timid at first is becoming the one I'm bonding with the most just like I figured. The crazy little boy with the short tail and my mom have fallen for each other big-time also. Pretty funny. I gotta get some better pics tomorrow when they are all cleaned up. Things move so much it's hard lol.

CDS needs to chill out. Found these 4 babies under the building at work this morning.

Found these gorgeous kittens this morning. Was able to easily catch them all. I have a big Catio at home my former ferals live in and I've been needing an excuse to make it bigger so I'll probably keep all 4. Poor hungry things are a mess now that they're home and mowing wet kitten food. 2 boys and 2 girls from what I can tell. One boy has a half tail (not quite a Bob tail) and he is definitely the menace of the group. r/catdistribution you require too damn many sentences! Like c'mon I've written enough!

Bumble foot

A couple times a year I hen sit 4 hens for a month or so at a time. 2 ISA Browns and 2 Buff Orps. After two days I just noticed one of the buff girls has bumble foot bad. I'm going to isolate her and I already made a soak box for when one of my girls had sour crop. What else can I do for this poor lady?

My boy fell ill over the weekend. Could tell he was suddenly really struggling. Caner all over his lungs and spleen. Far as I know he's only 7ish. Rescued him 5 years ago. Losing my second shepherd in 5 years is ripping my guts out. Hug your babies for me.
