HAL attacks Frank

We don’t see the actual pod assault… only the aftermath.

I used to hold the assumption (possibly suggested by Kubrick’s jump cut direction) that Hal just simply rammed Frank, and that was enough to send him tumbling away.

Now I’m starting to imagine a much more violent struggle, with Hal grabbing at Frank with the pod arms, ripping at his O2 supply, Frank fighting back , and then HAL hitting the thrusters to really accelerate Frank away from Discovery, in the process inducing an uncontrollable tumble in both Frank and the pod.

How do you see it happening?

Pussy sealed his fate when he said he ate out the acupuncturist

They were gonna give him a pass until he confessed to being a Bushman of the Kalahari.

Nothing else they could do at that point. They don’t make the rules.

This guy

An excellent example of the adage: “When someone shows you who they really are…. BELIEVE THEM. “

What a disappointment.

True Story: My Dad was copywriter on the Mohawk Airlines account in the late 60’s

In New York…. SCHENECTADY , New York, that is.

Early in his advertising career, my father worked in General Electric’s in-house Advertising & Sales Promotion Department.

For reasons that still aren’t clear to me , they also took on outside, non-GE clients, functioning as a full-service ad agency.

Needless to say I was tickled the first time I heard Mohawk mentioned in Mad Men. Curiously, i could never get my Dad interested in watching the show. One of the reasons I always loved it was those mid 60’s style aesthetics are part of my earliest memories, and I always loved when my Dad would bring me along on a Saturday trip to the office when he had work he needed to finish. He would set me up at an artist’s table with a giant sketch pad , surrounded by a universe of colored markers.

Is this the best “moment” in the show?

It’s the moment when Don begins to become an honest man.

It’s the last moment of Sally’s childhood. She’s sees her father as a human being for the first time.

Tape flaw in “Don’t Stand…”?

Has everyone noticed the hissing and clicks in the opening seconds of this song.

It bothered me so much decades ago i bought multiple copies of Zenyatta thinking it might be in the vinyl pressing. But it was still there on the CD, and still again on the Spotify file.

Did the band notice it. Was it just unrepairable?

By the time Hank takes Walt Jr to the motel to harass Wendy (ep3) …

you would be convinced that Hank’s character arc was destined for complete douchebaggery.

He treats Wendy with complete inhumanity, and Walt Jr’s not much better for not recognizing it.

Driving onto Logan Airport with CCW

I find it very hard to find a definitive answer to the question:

Can I carry my legal gun in my car when picking up a passenger at Logan? — Curbside or parking lot pickup/dropoff only, no entering of terminals.

Markers/Credit Question

Do casinos accept cash deposits by players from which they can draw at the tables?

I would think this would be a good way for a regular player to fund their play , especially when dealing with large amounts which can be risky to walk around with.

Is this done? Or are markers only drawn against a credit line?
