My laptop gets near 0 download speed ONLY on my home network (Wi-Fi and Ethernet), but works fine on other networks. Other devices on my home network also work fine. Reinstalled Windows, reset router, changed DNS/MTU/MAC, still happening. What could cause this weird conflict?
So here's the situation because I'm losing my mind over this.
My laptop suddenly started getting extremely low download speeds on my home network only. Upload is mostly normal. Download can go as low as 0.08 Mbps. Websites fail to load, downloads stop midway, and I also get packet loss (2–3%).
Important details:
- This happens on BOTH Ethernet and Wi-Fi
- Other devices on the same network work fine
- My laptop works fine on OTHER networks
- I tested with another Wi-Fi and speeds were normal there
- I reinstalled Windows completely
- Reset network settings
- Reset router to factory settings
- Changed DNS, MTU, MAC address
- Disabled IPv6
- Reinstalled drivers
- Tried direct connection without router
- Speed link shows 1.0 Gbps normally
One weird thing:ipconfig /all showed a DHCP lease expiration year like 2162 at one point.
Laptop:
- Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (3) I218-LM
At this point it feels like my laptop specifically hates my home network. Has anyone seen something like this before?
