I have nothing against BB being the final villain if it is executed properly. I personally believe that BB serves as a stepping stone for the final challenge and end boss—Imu.

Imu most likely won't be defeated on Elbaf, and the fight will be postponed for whatever reason. In the meantime, Luffy and the rest of the pirate world will fight for the One Piece and clash with the Blackbeard pirates. This is where and when Luffy, having surpassed everyone, will be confirmed. Luffy, in my opinion, will need the Davy Clan to defeat Imu. Something that Joyboy couldn't do. Why would Blackbeard do this? Why would he help Luffy? Well, Luffy will find a way to make BB an ally, as he always does. Or Xebec will return in some way. These are my thoughts. What are yours?

And why Blackbeard? I get the appeal, but are there more reasons?

It reflects Rogers and One Piece's adventures nature and the willingness to head into the unknown. I also like the parallels between Roger and Luffy here being able to make new allies and friends with people they have met and barely know. Trusting them although they shouldn't. They simply follow their guts in this panel specifically destiny/fate leads him.

I don't want to promise anything since I don't have much time in my private life and I have other edits to do, but I would like to do a Sanji edit at some point as well. Let's see how things play out.

This scene had just the right aura. Luffy is usually silly, and it's rare to see him being serious and determined to inflict real damage for others' sake. He even entrusts Nami with his beloved hat. Even Usopp is determined to help and doesn't run away. The fights that followed were intense too. You could tell they were acting like a real crew.

There are certainly some things that can be criticized, like Nami not fighting herself. I’ve seen people compare this to the JJK Maki-Zenin-Cleansing situation, saying that it's typical of Oda to make a woman need a man’s help, while Maki handles it herself.

What do you guys think about those comparisons and what are your favorite scenes or panels? What’s your opinion on this scene? Are the critics fair?
