I am sick of the people blaming the old uncle for the whole wanton stall violence incident

Seeing my fellow Gen Zs talk about the incident saying "he shouldn't even have touched the kid in the first place" is pure victim blaming. The comments from Western foreigners on the coverage on BBC news instagram also reiterates the same sentiments and how the uncle deserved it. Even worse, a Gen Z mom told me "i don't feel sorry for the uncle at all cos it's 2026 everybody knows you shouldn't be touching kids'.

My take on it is that times have changed. It was more socially acceptable to pat kids on the head as a friendly gesture but it is frowned upon now with newer generations. Should uncle have patted the kid on the head? Probably not given the current social climate, he will have to adapt to it. But to be vilified and compared to a sexual predator blows the whole thing out of proportion.

ALLEGEDLY the couple is former WP member Nicole Seah and her husband. As a WP supporter, I'm glad Nicole is out of WP because she's a bad egg that proved to everyone through this incident she is not for the people as she claims to be. A Gen Z mom told me "But at least she is for the kids, and kids are the future" which to me doesnt fkin make sense because is being violent to a vulnerable group something you want to teach your child as an appropriate response if you do not feel comfortable? Of course, the situation will be wildly differently if it was sexually predatory, but this situation could have been easily defused with a simple "Hi uncle I would appreciate if you do not touch my child" since it was nothing but a HARMLESS ACT!

the parents have a right to not feel comfortable and confront the uncle, but most of us can agree whatever happened was excessive. He pulled the man's wrist with deliberate attempts to shove him to the ground ffs!

Like why the fuck are so many people lacking the ability to have civil discourse and need to resort to disproportionate reactions as if we are uncivilised, uneducated folk? People who are saying yes the reaction was too much but still say "oh but uncle shouldn't have done that in the first place" are part of the problem because those sentiments lessen the culpability of the perp and that the old man is at fault for what occurred.

(P.S Off topic but if it is true that the father is Bryan Seah who is a Singaporean based in Australia, and still told the uncle he is from Australia, it is reeking of trying to use Western privilege to assert superiority over our local folk. Not to forget it is pretentious considering he is not ACTUALLY australian but simply holds residency there.)

EDIT (bumping from a response I made): The reason I added the point about uncle being from a different era is that this entire discourse has shown that we as a society are increasingly lacking more understanding and empathy towards the older generation when they are trying/or unaware about adapting to changing times. If the dad had practiced that understanding while being able to firmly confront the man about his discomfort, I believe things would not have gotten this violent.

There's no need for escalation of the entire incident, and there's also no need to victim blame.

How to ignore the 3D when manifesting SP?

My SP had went no contact with me in February after many on-off interactions, and I learned that he had moved back to his home country where he is dating someone new and unfollowed me recently. I consulted manifestation coaches who tell me the 3D does not matter as long as I embody the new identity that I already have it, but I can't help but feel bad when I feel sad about the current circumstances as I am afraid it will affect my manifestation by wavering between believing I have it and feeling sad about it, as well as the fact that I don't know how one truly embodies the new identity without being overly delusional about the true reality.

If anyone can help me with this, I would be truly grateful.

Thoughts about Zoe and Sameer's Ending

To be honest, I think that Zoe and Sameer reuniting was a sweet moment, but I also did like how Stan Edgar also genuinely cared for Zoe and Victoria but I felt like their conclusion fell so flat. Like okay, they relocated to Arizona, but then that's it we never hear about them again or why Stan Edgar didn't try to locate his granddaughter again. I felt like I would have at least wanted to see some resolution to that but idk. What do you guys think of their conclusion?

Is it worth taking a loan for a Master's programme in London?

I'll keep this short but I want to go into an MFA in a reputable arts school in London but the issue is that while NAC scholarship is an option, I will have to go to the school's pre Masters programme first because I did not come from any fine arts educations background and iirc NAC scholarship does not fund graduate diploma programmes. For both the pre Masters programme and MFA itself, school fees are about 100k..........

I intend to one day be a tertiary lecturer in the arts field, or just pivot into doing something art related but I do not want to repeat doing an undergrad degree. Is taking a loan worth it? Does anyone have any other alternatives to consider?

(P.S Posting here cos I don't have enough karma points for other subreddits LOL)

Nightmare Art Studio Experience: Humiliated by unprofessional teacher at Classical Realism SG

Hi guys. So some of you may recall this post made 2 weeks ago as I made the mistake of posting it from my OG account, which led to me being doxxed on the post about my personal information and I had to delete my account. But I decided to post this again because I felt it was important that I have some form of closure while exposing this unprofessional teacher as a warning for people who are looking for an art studio to train at. The incident led me to go to the A&E to talk to my psychiatrist because of how much it affected me. I have a lengthy response and receipts of the teacher's unprofessionalism on Google reviews, and while it sucks that I did not have any video evidence of how he treated me, the screenshots of his response were the best I could provide to prove he is disrespectful and unprofessional. Of course, this is a one-sided recount, but it is what happened to me.

2 weeks ago, right after I came back from my trip to Seoul, I attended class and brought my sculpture to look for a stand as I typically do. This was my 6th session with him. That was when the teacher shouted "NO I AM NOT HELPING YOU" and I was pretty surprised as I did not say a word or even mumble to myself. As I was busy setting up, I casually asked him if he knew where the water spray was as it was not in the usual place and his studio is very messy, before he shouted at me "DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GET IT FOR YOU WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE. OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK" I kept clarifying that I did not ask him to take it for me or even implied that, but he kept shouting at me in front of the entire class, and the way he shouted at me was worse than how any of my bosses have shouted at me (and I have had some pretty psycho bosses). When he was in a quieter part of his house away from the other students (his studio is in his house), I kindly clarified that it was a misunderstanding, and to my shock he shouted at me that he was losing his patience with me, that nobody liked me and I was obnoxious and disruptive and that I treated his classes as a game. So I asked for a refund for my remaining classes as it was clear he was not willing to engage in a civil conversation.

This is my fault but in a fit of anger I posted my first review without detailing what happened, which he then replied, and I quote, that I was 'obnoxiously loud, disruptive and unliked' and that he was 'happy to refund me than to endure my presence any longer'. The screenshot of this review is up on my lengthy review on Google. This was a huge surprise to me as he never highlighted any of these things and he was relatively neutral or sometimes nice to me and even wished me a good trip to Seoul.

My first impression of the teacher was that honestly he could be rather rude, but I dismissed it as him being direct since he is American and perhaps I wasn't used to it as an Asian. He would often make uncomfortable remarks about past students and mock them for having mental conditions. When I highlighted to him that I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, all he said to me was 'it's clear you have some issues'. He also had favouritism issues where he was more willing to attend to the regular students while he would say to me "I'm losing my patience with you stop asking", even though I would only ask when he came to me to check my progress or I would always preface that I needed his help but whenever he was ready. Sometimes I just look at the other students' work and say it's really nice or make some chit chat, which he often does.

He called me obnoxiously loud and disruptive, and I highlighted to him that he could have mentioned all this to me and feedbacked to me instead of shouting at me out of nowhere. Again, I have the WhatsApp message attached in the Google reviews where I tried to highlight the concerns and issues about the incident, and all he responded was 'TLDR'.

Even if I was really at fault, I wished he highlighted all this to me in a professional manner instead of dismissing me. He is not accomodating at all to students who require more guidance, and for a man in his 50s it is really shocking behaviour and you would expect at least a civil conversation about the matter, which I did not get till this day.

In my new review, he added the exact same response while adding that multiple students have cancelled when they knew I was attending. Again, if I was really the problem I would own up to it, even if from my perspective I mostly kept to myself and focused on my work. I concurrently attended another studio that fit my schedule, and I even asked the teacher if I was disruptive and she was surprised and said there was no instance of that as I mostly kept to myself. I also attended a new studio, in which the teacher also highlighted his underhanded tactics to steal competition from other studios.

I'm disappointed and frankly very affected by how everything went down and I could not stop crying for days. I'm posting this because I want to warn everybody that there are really better studios out there to learn at. As far as I know and my teachers know, he's the only teacher in Singapore that offers sculpture classes, which sucks because now I have no more opportunity to train in Singapore. But I also wouldn't ever train with someone like him ever again.

TLDR: Clayton, who is the sole owner and teacher at Classical Realism SG, is the most unprofessional and disrespectful teacher who does not know how to communicate with students in a civil manner and nobody should ever have to endure such treatment from him. Again, I have the receipts of his unprofesionalism on Google if you search Classical Realism SG.
