It's been a month since my septoplasty + turb reduction. I am cleared to work, do hard workouts, travel, everything. But something is off! I feel crappy all the time even though my nose is not blocked (albeit it does not feel super different compared to how it was before surgery...).
And the thing is, according to my Garmin, my body is not ok. Every single day since the surgery has been a "stressful day" even if it was a relaxing Sunday doing nothing. My resting heart rate has gone from 50 to 66. My HRV used to be in the 80s and now its under 50s. My body continues to be stressed until 3am-ish even if I go to sleep early. And yet my wife says I am sleeping better, mouth closed, breathing through my nose. Is my body not supposed to feel better then?
Is this normal?
So not everybody can be Elle Woods, but at least that movie inspired a bunch of girls to look great and kick ass in law school. And as long as you understand that movies are movies, you do not need to be oh so depressed if you do not end up achieving the same as the movie character.
I find it hard to be inspired by any movie these days. Everything is made to be "relatable" and it is not inspiring at all.
EDIT: okay OKAY there are some good ones incl. Project Hail Mary but in general there are way too many sad asf movies these days.
EDIT 2: Gee some of you are really mad about the example I used. In all seriousness though. It is a 20+ year old movie which, if it were to be made today as an original film, would be harshly criticized for being too unrealistic, privileged, setting "dangerous standards" for girls, etc. When it is actually a fun aspirational film for all the girlies. So that is why this example came to mind. It is older and it does not get done anymore this way.
No phones, no filters, just wholesome 90s vibes, beach scenes, hot people saving lives and doing heroic things
Something that really bothers me is that I never seem to have enough time in life. It seems a constant in my generation to complain about how we are supposed to work, eat healthy home cooked food, exercise, socialize, keep our homes clean and how there is just not enough time for all of that. Let's not even start about kids. But then I think of adults when I was younger and they seemed more relaxed. Like somehow spending time doing a crossword was fine. And I just wonder, are we really just wasting so much time on our phones? Is that it? Or is it just that this is how life is when you enter your 30s?
