NOT ABLE TO REGISTER HELPP

Is anyone else facing this issue with the Samarth portal? Whenever I try to register using all my correct details, I get the same error. It has been happening on the AU Samarth portal, and for the BR Ambedkar University Delhi Samarth portal I’ve been facing the same issue for the last 4 days. I’m worried this will happen on every Samarth-based university portal (like BHU or Central University of South Bihar) too. I’m registering from a laptop, Chrome is updated, I’ve also tried Firefox and an incognito window, but nothing has worked. If anyone has faced this before or knows how to fix it, please help.

What BA Psychology colleges can I realistically expect with my score? (General Category)

Except for DU (I’m not eligible due to the prior subject criteria), what colleges can I realistically expect for BA, preferably Psychology?

My scores:

  • Language + GAT: 420/750
  • English + GAT: 267/500
  • Category: General

From what I’ve seen, most universities I’m targeting consider English + GAT, and some also require one domain.

Can I realistically get any of these?

  • BHU (main campus or affiliated colleges)
  • University of Allahabad (main campus)
  • TISS Guwahati
  • Jamia Hamdard
  • Central University of South Bihar (CUSB)

Or are there any other good central/state universities I should keep on my radar for BA Psychology?

How would you rank BHU affiliated colleges for BA? (Excluding Main Campus)

I’m filling my BHU counselling preferences and wanted to know how you would rank the affiliated colleges only (excluding the main BHU campus) for BA Social Science courses like Psychology, Economics, Sociology, History, Geography, Political Science, etc.

The colleges are:

  • DAV PG College
  • Arya Mahila PG College
  • Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya (VKM)
  • Vasanta College for Women

What order would you recommend for preference filling, and why?

Please consider factors like:

  • academics & faculty
  • peer group
  • infrastructure
  • exposure/campus life
  • location & connectivity
  • overall reputation

Central University of South Bihar (CUSB): Campus Location, PGs/1BHKs & Connectivity to Gaya?

Does anybody know the exact location of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB)? I’ve heard the university infrastructure and faculty are quite good, but I don’t want to stay in the hostel. I’d prefer either a separate 1BHK or a girls’ PG with a kitchen, as I can’t really do without cooking for myself.

What’s the area around the campus like? Is it very far from Gaya city? Are there grocery stores, vegetable markets, stationery shops, and other basic facilities nearby, or is it more of a proper village setting? Also, how far is Gaya city from the campus, and roughly how much time does the commute take? If any current students, alumni, or locals could share their experience regarding accommodation and daily life around CUSB, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

CUET Counselling Process Doubts

Accha, result to aa gaya. Ab aage ka process kya hai, can anybody tell? If I want to apply to three central universities, BHU, AU, and Central University of South Bihar, since all three are central universities, is the admission/counselling process similar? Also, what exactly is the Samarth portal, and when is it likely to open for these universities? And if I want to apply to some state universities or deemed universities as well, should I just keep checking their websites, or is there a separate counselling process? If I don’t find any information on their websites, how does the admission process usually work for them?

BPSC aspirants, please drop your complete resources/booklist 🙏

Anyone here who has prepared for UPPCS/BPSC (especially BPSC), please drop your resources 🙏

I have around 3 years in hand and I’m ready to give it everything. Not even targeting UPSC tbh, BPSC is the main goal.

Would appreciate:

  • Booklist for all subjects
  • Coaching recommendations
  • Best teachers for GS, CA, CSAT, etc.
  • Test series and answer writing resources

Also, can we be reasonably sure BPSC will continue regularly and have decent vacancies 3-4 years from now? I know there are allegations of irregularities every year, but surely not enough to make the exam pointless, right?

Humanities background btw and hopefully joining BHU/AU soon.

Complete Beginner Here: How Should I Prepare for BPSC Over the Next 3 Years?

Before anyone starts telling me to "explore life", "don't spend your youth preparing for government exams", "look at private sector opportunities", or "don't get stuck in the competitive exam cycle", I've already heard all of that 😭.

I'm not a particularly outgoing person, and when I'm in the right flow, I genuinely enjoy studying. A government job has been my goal for a long time, so that's the direction I want to pursue.

I'm planning to do a BA in either Geography or Sociology. My strengths are reading, language, comprehension, and general awareness. Maths is not really my strong point, though I can manage it with consistent practice.

The advantage I have is time. I will have a full 3 years during graduation.

My primary target is BPSC and other State PCS examinations. However, because recruitment cycles can be long and somewhat unpredictable, I also plan to prepare for Bank PO exams as a backup option.

At least for my first year, I'm thinking of studying:

  • Around 3 hours daily for BPSC/State PCS
  • Around 2 hours daily for Bank PO

As a complete beginner, I'm feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information available online. Every topper seems to recommend different books, different teachers, and different strategies.

So I wanted guidance from people who have actually prepared for or cleared BPSC:

  1. If you were starting from scratch with 3 full years in hand, how would you prepare?
  2. Which books should I begin with for Prelims and Mains?
  3. Is coaching necessary, or can a disciplined self-study approach work?
  4. Which YouTube channels or teachers do you genuinely recommend?
  5. How should I balance NCERTs, standard books, Bihar-specific content, current affairs, and answer writing?
  6. When should I start Mains-oriented preparation and answer writing?
  7. What mistakes do most beginners make that I should avoid?
  8. Are there any Telegram channels, websites, magazines, or other resources that you found genuinely useful?

I'm not looking for shortcuts or unrealistic strategies. I just want a structured roadmap from people who have been through the process because right now everything feels scattered.

Looking for girls PG near BHU (single room + AC + kitchen access)

I’m likely going to join BHU for graduation and I’m trying to figure out accommodation options near the university.

A little background: I’m originally from Bihar, but currently live in Prayagraj because of my father’s government job. So moving to Varanasi won’t be a problem for me, and I’m already somewhat familiar with the city from previous visits. My main concern is accommodation.

One thing that is completely non-negotiable for me is food. I cannot live on mess food, tiffin services, or outside food for the next 3 years. I need to cook my own meals daily and that’s not something I’m willing to compromise on.

My parents are not willing to rent and fully set up a separate flat with furniture, fridge, kitchen, etc. They want me to stay in a PG or student accommodation rather than maintain an independent household.

So I’m looking for a girls’ PG or similar accommodation near BHU that has:

• Single occupancy room
• AC
• Permission to cook my own food daily
• Private kitchen, kitchenette, or at least a common kitchen/induction cooking allowed
• No compulsory mess or meal plan

I don’t mind living simply. Since PGs already provide a bed, I can manage with portable storage racks, a foldable study setup, cloth wardrobe, and other basic furniture.

Do such PGs exist around BHU? If you’ve stayed in one or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate recommendations.

Looking for girls PG near AU (single room + AC + kitchen access)

I’m likely going to join Allahabad University for graduation and I’m looking into accommodation options.

A little background: I’m originally from Bihar. Right now I live near Prayagraj because of my father’s government job, but quite far from the city. I actually lived in Prayagraj city itself for about two years earlier, so I’m already familiar with the city and don’t have any issues with adjusting there. My main concern is accommodation.
