My daughter is about to be 2 in August, and I’m starting to think about transitioning her from her crib to a “big kid bed”. Unfortunately we don’t have one of those cribs that adjusts to a transition bed, so I’ll probably just put a twin mattress on the floor when the time comes.

When do people typically transition to a bed? She hasn’t tried climbing out of it yet, so I’m not sure if it’s really necessary.

And once you transition, how do you contain them at night or early mornings? Right now if she wakes up before us, she’ll just stand in her crib and whine a little until we get her, but once she’s in a bed she’ll be free range… I’m afraid she’ll wake up and get into mischief without us knowing.
