Image 1 — When trying to make a hole for their test tube as their outworld I notice small holes that they can squeeze through and escape, is there anything that could seal them ? Completely like any kind of stuff that works

Is it normal that I don’t see when my ants wonder outside. I’m kinda worried but I don’t wanna disturb them in case they might be all good,

I’m. a bit worried that they have died for some reason because I usually never see one of the 11 workers wonder out for food, my feeding schedule works like this: I feed them mealworms on Friday then feed them on Monday then I feed them on Friday and the cycle goes.

When should I really check up on my colony ?

I’ve had my colony for 1 day now, I made them a setup with a plastic tub as a outworld, my colony Has like 11 workers and Are foraging one by one, I was wondering if I should leave them with their allimin foil on And cover them up for a relay really long time, ive seen other people on YouTube that haven’t checked up on their colony after exactly a month which is over 30 days now me personally I think that sounds a bit risky idk about u guys

Has Anybody else noticed this with their mealworms reproducing?

has anybody noticed that the previous mealworm generation you have bought have way more worms than the new generations?

How often should i actually feed my ant colony protein?

I really don’t know if I’m giving them enough protein, some people say that I gotta feed them once a week while others say two times a week, and I also don’t know how I should technically count two times a week if I feed them before the weeks usually start.

question about keeping mealworms

guys is this a normal thing in nature

so for context about 12 days ago i chaught over 17 lasius niger queens in a nuptial flight near my home, i catched the ones that tried to fly away which was all of those 17 ones, i left them alone for about 12 days and now i checked up on them and they all have wings and no eggs they might be infertile, what i do not understand at all is why would as many as 17 queens decide to fly away from their colony just to end up infertile.

has anybody else experienced something close to this

a bit weird question but

so im planning on buying 8 colonies of lasius niger with 5 to 10 workers in them, however i wonder if i will then need 8 plastic tubs so i can make a tubs and tubes setup, thats alternative 1, alternative 2 is that i buy 8 ant queens alone
