How much it normally costs for a PR in Australia?

Hi, I’m a Civil Engineer with 6 yrs experience here in Ph. I recently just had a consultation with an agency regarding skilled migration to Australia through Visa 190/189/491. I would need to prepare around 700k for the entire process (including for my de facto partner) so parang tig 300k kami. And looking at it parang kaya naman. Ang kaso lang wala pang actual work yun maghahanap pa once magrant ang visa, and the additional costs for plane tickets and living expenses if pupunta na australia na wala pang work.

For those who went through a similar path, How’s the job market for CE there?

Any advise would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Management or Technical role?

Which one is better? Sa current company ko I am already being trained for project management roles mostly for consultancy projects. However, medyo nanliliit ako sa sarili ko because feeling ko I am not that knowledgeable technically. Like yes may working knowledge ako but nakukulangan pa ako.
Should I consider looking for more technical roles? Alin po ang mas maganda for career progression or even for opportunities abroad?

Gaano katagal before macontact from manpower pooling?

For those who submitted their application to agencies na nagpost ng “For Manpower Pooling only” gaano po kataas yung chances na magkaroon ng actual vacancy for the position at gaano po kayo katagal bago nacontact ulit ng agency for processing?

Salamat po

Possible po kaya mag shift career abroad?

I am a civil engineer in the Philippines. Currently working po ako dito and all of my experience is related to my profession. I have 6 years experience in construction and consultancy as a civil engineer.
Ang kaso lang po, I’m not earning enough at lagi pang pagod na pagod. Triny ko na din mag apply sa ibang companies na medyo mas mataas sana sahod pero wala talaga I’ve been applying for years already, and never got accepted anywhere kasi masyado na ding maraming kakompetensya sa civil engineering.

Ngayon, I’ve been looking up jobs abroad and pangarap ko talaga makawork sa europe. And if sakali man maisingit ko yung pagkuha ng certification like housekeeping, factory worker, etc, need pa rin ng work experience locally para mahire.

Need advise how to work abroad with my CE background

I am kindly seeking advise on how to start my journey to work abroad. Gusto ko na po talaga makaalis ng bansa, for me lang personally, hindi na makatarungan yung nakukuha kong sahod dito sa Pilipinas. I work in consultancy, and mostly project management po ginagawa ko. Our projects include structural evaluation, retroftting design, DAED, materials testing, etc. Anyone here who decided to work abroad? Paano po kayo nagstart, what agencies or saan job portals po kayo nag apply to be a civil engineer? And kumusta po and work experience compared here in Ph. Hoping to gain insights po from my fellow Filipino civil engineers. Salamat po

Subic saday or dako, alin ang mas maganda dagat

Alin po mas worth the money if i’m not mistaken dalawa po yung beach sa subic yung subic dako and subic saday. Alin po kaya ang better option for relaxation and value for money. Salamat po

Should I switch from SG 14 (permanent) to SG 19 (contractual)?

SG-14 (pros and cons)

Pro: chill, comfort zone, malapit sa tinitirahan ko (5k monthly rent + utilities), permanent, bonuses (marami but gross income still less than SG-19 gross)
Cons: mababa base pay, not really getting along with workmates, kahit technical staff ako pati admin ginagawa ko, peak na yung position ko and no more room for promotion

SG-19 (pros and cons)

Pro: relatively higher base pay, possibility of promotion but wala pang exact timeline could even take years
Cons: need to relocate (increase in salary might just go to additional rent expense), not permanent so no benefits and bonuses

I am a civil engineer and both positions are applicable to my experience.
