It works! Applied this mani Saturday night with the blue shimmer Aquapop as the base. One nail popped off on its own today and I removed the other without any problem. Since this is my first time trying a peel off base and I'm hard on my nails, I'm pretty happy with a day and a half of wear.
Title says it all.
I have a lot of less traditional colors in my collection, but I still like red!

I'm giving my poor peeling nails a break so I decided to see if I could get this chrome powder to work with regular polish on some nail tips, and SURPRISE - it's holographic! I used a base of Color Vibe Cosmic Black. On two of the tips I topped it with Ioni Aquapop top coat (water based) and one with L.A. Colors 2-in-1 top coat/base coat. I let all of them dry, and then tried the chrome straight on the Aquapop coat, and on the other two I swiped them with an alcohol wipe to make the top coat a bit sticky before applying chrome. They all worked decently but using the alcohol wipe did help the chrome adhere better. I then topped with the Aquapop top coat, and finally with Sally Hansen quick dry top coat. I can't wait to wear this on my natural nails!
I used Maniology No Smudge Top Coat on the left and Ioni water based top coat from the Pink Cowgirl collection on the right. I didn't float the top coat for either. If you look closely you can see that both of them smudged a little in a spot or two (ignore the bottom right area, that just stamped that way, probably due to user error) but they both did pretty well over all. I actually expected worse performance from Maniology since I almost always get one or two noticeable smudges from it when I float it, and this time I just dragged the brush....figures that when I'm just stamping crapola it decides to behave!
The Ioni top coat did take forever to dry. I waited for about 5 minutes and it didn't seem like it wanted to dry anytime soon, so I left and checked on it again in another 30 minutes. Somewhere in that timeframe it dried. If I use it again I'll use a hairdryer to speed things along.
Also, I was worried that the Ioni top coat would dull the color or shine since it looks cloudy in the bottle, but I don't think it did at all!
