College Major to get into this field

Hello, I'm currently thinking about going back to college to get into Intelligence Analysis. I was kicked out of the Army and my Mos was 35 Fox and there's a really good chance i'm not going back in. I was attending Community college and hit about 35-40 credits before dropping out.

1)How hard are the interviews?

2)How important is having connections?

3)What degree should you get into if you want to get into Geospatial intelligence/ or anything more technical than just pure Intelligence Analysis?

Coming back to the Army

Hello, I was kicked out of Army Basic training earlier this year. I was kicked out because i made some stupid statements really impulsively which implied i was going to hurt myself with my gun. The official reason which is on one of the forms says is because of ADHD, and that i failed the procurement standard. My re code is a 3 and a Jfw. Unfortunately for me BH told me and heavily implied that i should get back on ADHD medication not only because of what had happened but also since i've had like 6 jobs in the past 3-4 years, and also because I went to college twice and didn't earn a degree, I had a 3.5 GPA and about 40 or so credits completed before i quit. Unfortunately for me i don't have any health insurance to actually get on it, but i also want to re-enlist and see if i can function without anything. I really want to go back into the army because i want to accomplish something, alot of the people i know are graduating college now , and a good ~50% of them have commissioned and i really want to do something important and to serve.

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar position, I live in Florida if it matters. I also hit up the USCGAUX but it's been 4 months and haven't gotten a response back from them.

Why do USCG Cutters get so mad when boaters shine a light on them?

One time sailing to Port Everglades there was a situation overheard on either ch16 or 13, where apparently a fishing boat or whoever shined their spotlight onto the a cutter, and whoever the mate on watch over on the cutter hopped onto the vhf and yelled at the fishing boat.

1)Why did that cutter get so mad at the fishing boat?

2)Aren't cutters supposed to follow the rules of the road and have their lights on as well?

USCG marine safety and information broadcast

I'm a sailor by trade and i always hear the marine safety and information broadcasts whenever i'm on the bridge. I'm not on the bridge alot since instead of my regular morning watch i just work penalty, and we're a coastwise tanker so we dont have alot of time at sea unfortunately.

1)do u guys have it set up that you have a script to follow?

2)If some vessels have a discussion on Channel 16, does the coast guard hop on and kick them off of the channel?

3)Can you guys track whoevers having a conversation on ch16, and give them a fine afterwards?

Can i become a truck driver in the usa on adhd medication?

I don't have anything career wise to be excited about, I recently thought about driving trucks. I was wondering if anyone else here has any experience on being on ADHD medication and driving trucks. Is it a hard thing to get approved by the DOT and more importantly, how easy is it to get hired after obtaining your cdl?

noaa interview

Hi guys, i just interviewed with NOAA for an AB position,

Is it a good sign if the interviewer asked me what coast i'd like to work on as well as them saying my work history seemed pretty good? I hope i can get the job.

NOAA

Hello, i recently got off of the phone with a NOAA recruiter because i've applied for an AB position. What's the workload there for an AB? Is it dayman work or do they have Watchstanding AB positions?

What kind of ports can you visit?

What's the work-load compared to say an oil tanker (I'm on one right now.)
Thanks for the information!

Re-enlisting with an re-3

Got kicked out of Army bct for adhd got an re-3 on my dd214. How hard is it to get a waiver for the uscg what are the steps, and would my experience as an AB in the Merchant marine ( ~10 months) count towards anything? Since i'm sailing i'm not on any adhd medication and haven't been for 4 years.

USCG Auxillary

One of my friends mentioned the Auxillary, i was interested in it, since i'm 21 and i want to serve.

I couldn't find any information on Tiktok about it, so i came to ask here.

I was sent home from the Army and got a re-3 on my dd214 for ADHD, will ts be an issue?

Do Auxillary members participate in USCG operations or is it more along of doing things like giving Boaters information about Lifejackets and stuff?

Is it strictly volunteer? Can u end up a Cutter? If it helps i also have a deck rating since i work in the Merchant marine as well.

if ts gets any responses thanks

Coming back to the Army

I was curious could i try and do ROTC if i was removed from Basic Training for an existing medical condition?

If so what is the process going to look like, or am i permanently cooked?
