A free alternative to Reclub for running open plays and tournaments

I heard more and more complaints about Reclub cost and limitations so I launched an app named SliceWin a year ago for people to run open play and tournaments easily.

It’s getting quite popular in the Philippines (check the map in the last picture!) so I thought it would be useful to share it here.

Here's what is does :

  • All formats : Knockout, Rotations (race to 6, race to 4 etc.), team tournament, singles or doubles, and it adapts to the number of courts.
  • Time saved for hosts : Bracket generation, fair rotations, registrations, and leaderboards are all automated, saving organizers a ton of time.
  • Better experience for players : Players are not forced to install the app to play. Hosts can manually add players and manage scores for them. If a player decides to download the app later, the host can just link their profile. Once they install the app, players can self-report their scores, upload photos, track leaderboard and upcoming events.
  • Player Tracking: It also offers an Elo-style ranking system that tracks all your matches, so you can actually see your progress over time.

It’s super easy to set up your club or community to start making your events more pro and competitive!

It is free on both the App Store and Google Play :

Run box leagues where every match counts twice

I built a free app that makes box leagues easy to organize, while also tracking an all-time player ranking, to track long-term progress across multiple seasons, not just the current league.

Sharing it here as box leagues are the backbone of many squash clubs.

How it works :
- Create your club in less than a minute (works as well if you're just a community)
- Set up your league: number of groups, date range, players per box
- Invite players to join OR add them manually. No one is forced to download anything.
- Start the league. Players can self-report matches (with opponent or admin validation), upload photos and follow standings. Leaderboard updates automatically.
- At the end of each cycle (usually 4 to 6 weeks), top of each box gets promoted, bottom gets relegated.

Besides box leagues, the app builds an all-time player ranking and history for your club. It can handle other tournament formats too (knockout, Swiss, etc.), and even court bookings if you need that. It works for other racket sports as well, making it great for multi-sport clubs.

How to run a padel league

Hey,

With padel exploding, I've noticed a lot of clubs and player groups trying to transition from casual Americanos or knockout to proper, structured leagues. But organizing it usually falls on one person who ends up chasing scores in group chats, rebuilding standings after every match, and dealing with teams that drop out mid-season.

I spend a lot of time playing padel and building tools, so I put together a guide on the formats and structures that actually keep players engaged without burning out the organizer.

Here are the main takeaways if you're setting one up:

  • Ditch the massive single table. Unless you have a tight group of 6–8 teams of similar skill, switch to a multi-division format. Grouping 4 to 5 teams by skill level means beginners stop getting blown out, and strong pairs don't just walk through weak draws. Every division has its own race and a reasonable amount of matches.
  • Run 4-week monthly seasons with promotion & relegation. You don't need a year-long calendar. Run it for a month, promote the first team, relegate the last team of the group, and reset. The short window keeps unfinished matches feeling urgent, and the threat of the drop keeps players booking courts.
  • Decentralize the admin. Let players report their own scores and have the table automatically sort by points, then score difference, then matches played.

If you're the designated organizer or running a club , you can read the full breakdown here: How to Run a Successful Padel League: 8 Tips That Work.

Full disclosure: I also built SliceWin, the app mentioned in the article, to handle all of this automatically (it even tracks long-term Elo ratings so divisions auto-balance themselves month to month).

Feel free to share your thoughts on that topic, I’d love to get your feedback!

See you on the courts!

Free app to run beach volleyball tournaments and open play sessions like a pro

I built a free app to help clubs and communities organize beach tournaments, leagues and open play sessions. I thought it might be useful to some members here.

It's a tool to keep the community active, increase friendly competition, and give people more reasons to play regularly.

I made it originally for racket sports, but users made me realized it is perfectly adapted for 2v2 beach volley too as it's also played in doubles and with sets.

It now has 45,000+ players and I’m constantly improving it based on user feedback.

What's in there :

  • Tournament manager : Knockout, Round Robin, Team tournament, Swiss, fixed team or rotating partners
  • Open Play sessions and ladders
  • Cross-tournament ranking within the club or community taking into account all matches played!
  • Players management : players can download the app or be created manually - no one is forced to download the app.
  • Players who download the app can self-report their results, add pictures of their matches, follow-up tournaments etc.

It’s super easy and straight forward to set up your community or club and start making your events more pro and competitive.

A map view also allows clubs and communities to be discovered by players nearby.
