PC build with multiple GPU Asus crosshair X870

After a long break (since 2004), I am planing to build custom PC for AI/LLM work. I did some research and shortlisted most of the components.

Originally, I was planning to go with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, RTX 5090, and ASUS Strix X870 board. But recently I noticed that the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870 Hero has two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, which got me thinking about future multi-GPU upgrades for more VRAM.

My idea would be to use an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 as the main GPU, and later maybe add a smaller second card like 16GB FE model because of its compact size.

My concern is: since the 5090 itself takes almost 3 slots, is there realistically enough space left for a second GPU on this board? I’m also worried about airflow, cooling, and general system stability when running multiple GPUs in the same case.

Would appreciate advice from anyone running multi-GPU setups on X870 boards for AI workloads.

Is it good idea to import Legion Tower Intel RTX 5090 from US

I am planning to buy a tower RTX 5090 for AI workload. I found decent option in Lenovo US Legion Tower 7i 285k with Rtx 5090 on 4916$. Adding shipping cost and custom is around 2000 AED.

Same custom PC here costs nearly 30K. Only caveat is warranty claim. US warranty is not valid here.

Is RTX 5080 TI coming

I’m building PC mainly for AI workloads, and the RTX 5080’s 16GB VRAM feels a bit limited for model loading. On the other hand, the 5090 is too expensive. 24GB VRAM card would be the ideal sweet spot, but there doesn’t seem to be a current-gen option for that right now.

So I wanted to ask:

Any updates about a possible 5080 Ti launching this year?

What do you guys think about going with a 4090 instead? I found an option around the same price as a 5080 PC, although the rest of the hardware in that build is older.

I purchased this from a trusted seller, and so far the performance has been great. I haven’t compared it with other products yet. The only concern I have is about the sticker at the bottom. The packaging looks authentic and includes a batch number.
