Are We Building Websites for Users or, for Design Awards?

Been noticing this a lot lately. Sites that look incredible in a Dribbble screenshot but fall apart the moment a real user tries to navigate them.

Fast loading, clear navigation, obvious next step these things directly affect whether a business gets inquiries or not. Yet most of the budget goes into animations and hero sections that nobody asked for.

Curious whether others think the industry has its priorities backwards right now or is this just how clients are being sold to?

Do Modern Websites Focus Too Much on Looks and Not Enough on Usability?

I have noticed that many modern websites look great but are not easy to use. Sometimes simple layouts, fast loading speeds and clear navigation make a website better than designs with too many effects and animations.

Websites should be easy to use. Businesses and designers should focus on usability instead of just making the website look good. Do you think businesses and designers make websites too complicated and forget about usability?

Cross Platform vs Native App Development

Where Are We All Leaning These Days?

Frameworks like Flutter and React Native seem to be adopted much faster as companies want to get to market faster and save development costs in the early stages.

I'm just curious to know if developers here still prefer native apps for new projects or if the trend is going totally towards cross platform solutions now. What do you say?

WordPress vs Custom Coding

I personally prefer building websites with WordPress because the workflow feels faster and clients can easily manage the site later without depending on a developer for every small change.

At the same time, I understand why many developers prefer custom stacks like React or Next.js for flexibility and performance.

Curious what everyone here prefers these days and why?
