Balraj has any stake/equity in Latent’s IP?

Latent’s valuation is very high, especially after Netflix is paying them in crores per episode and inevitably Habitat has been so instrumental in Latent’s success.

Anyone who understands the economics, equity split, business model, please throw some light.

What in the name of crowdwork? Inframe: @vikaskushsharma koi

Vikas Kush Sharma is largely known for his crowd work and by all means it’s a fun thing to do.

But this is our country’s inherent racism towards someone like Pranit- because the North Indian comics like Vivek Samtani, Madhur Virli, Kaustubh Agrawal, Vikas Kush Sharma, etc. all have gotten away with worse on misogyny.

I was never a Pranit More stan.. never will be.. but I know that he was caught on the wrong side of virality & morality.. and his own supposed fraternity; the comedy scene turned against him. Selective outrage. Virtu signalling. Trend riding. They’d never do it to a Bassi or Harsh Gujral or a Samay Raina.. but the moment someone with own audience despite lesser academic prowess like Pranit came along, everyone was waiting to pounce at him.

Meanwhile.. A girl was forced to eat a banana seductively looking at the host 🍌

Mukesh Mills isn’t haunted. So who benefits from everyone believing it is?

This place is one of Mumbai’s most popular shooting locations. I’ve been there more than 70 times and I’ve never understood why Bipasha Basu, Amitabh Bachchan and half of Bollywood seem to have collectively decided that Mukesh Mills is haunted.

I recently started digging into the history of the place for a podcast and came across some interesting discussions around property disputes and redevelopment issues with neighbouring buildings. It made me wonder whether the ghost stories are true or a myth. Whatever the truth is, Mukesh Mills is a banging location. Massive industrial ruins, incredible sea views, insane atmosphere and some of the most unique visual character you’ll find anywhere in Mumbai. Who needed a sea-view cotton mill in the 1870s to begin with?

I’ve never seen vibes like this anywhere else in the city.
If anything, Mumbai should be figuring out how to preserve and showcase this place. A mill museum, cultural district, waterfront destination—anything.
The real mystery to me isn’t whether it’s haunted.
It’s how one of the most fascinating places in Mumbai remains hidden from almost everyone.

Pranit More- mental health debate- have we forgotten SSR?

All comics have dissed Pranit publicly for his blunder, mistake, & irresponsible posting on Himanshu Jangra’s 370 Biryani Controversy. I agree, he had a massive lapse on judgement or he may have even done it intentionally because maybe he knows that he’s is unfunny..

But as a society, does he deserve this kind of bullying from the internet.. and forget that.. his own fraternity?

He was on Bigg Boss, which I’m sure every comic wants to be on because of the commercial gains one can make. Are the dissing posts coming because of jealousy? Or because of moral superiority? Or because plain ol’ riding on a controversy?

As a result, we’ve seen Pranit deactivate his account, Himanshu lost his job.. They are humans, shitty humans maybe, but humans after all.. do they deserve this kind of bullying? At such a concerted effort? Everyone including senior comics like Vir Das, Amit Tandon, Nishant Suri, or even lesser known comics like Chirag Panjwani and others have dissed him publicly. I was thinking if I should support this because my own thoughts are against Pranit.. But I dislike him and his low-effort comedy anyway.. but shouldn’t we be more measured in our criticism towards him? He is clearly affected and has deactivated his account.

2/3 run comedy clubs in a third world country

Is this the best way to represent India? I don’t think the organizers must’ve had the balls to name the show “third world” and I’m pretty sure these comics have done it themselves.

Chirag Panjwani fan is a Gurleen Pannu simp

That’s just a ragebait headline. But the underlying issue is how a post of mine which was getting traction was shut down by Gurleen’s managers because I just observed that Sharon’s tours are doing better & Gurleen is cancelling shows.

Are we that soft that we can take some observations? Sorry I don’t think the comics have an issue with this, this is some kind of overzealous image management by the team.

What’s pulling back Rajat Sood?

He’s always performing in different cities- but seems like he is only doing small rooms. He was the winner of Laughter Challenge na- why didn’t he become big? Others who came in comedy or poetry after him have gone ahead and doing big halls like Sharon Verma or his own friend Manhar Seth, open bhi nahi karta woh Manhar Seth ke liye shayad. Other contestants of his season also like Nitesh Shetty (very viral on reels), Ravi Gupta (latest superstar), Kullu (he has Sahiba) are all doing seemingly better than this boy.

Comic Hunt- Archana Puran Singh

Does anyone know how’s the participation/selection happening? I’ve heard Archana Puran Singh and her sons are doing a comic hunt. Might be a quick nice cash grab, don’t have big hopes. Even Krishna tried writing a comedy show with Inder Sahani & the likes, but it never materialized

Why do comedy collectives always break up?

There was a phase in Indian comedy where collectives felt like actual bands.

AIB, EIC, SnG etc. People appeared in each other’s videos constantly, there were recurring inside jokes, audiences kinda followed the whole ecosystem instead of just individual comics.

But almost every collective eventually split up or became inactive. Even globally this keeps happening.

Why is running a comedy collective so difficult as a long-term business model? Is it money, creative differences, algorithms pushing individuality, or just people growing at different speeds?

Also feels like some groups retained friendships/collaborations better than others. For example, Aadar & Varun still seem to pop up together pretty consistently after all these years.

Which comedy collectives did you guys enjoy the most?

Please tell me what was wrong with the post? It was a very measured post in fact where I have mentioned I’m a fan of Shreya, I mentioned that her spot was placed wrongly, full benefit-of-doubt. Can I not criticise someone who called me a bad audience?

Is it good moderation? Or did Shreya’s management ask you guys to remove this post? Are we discussing the scene or is this page a PR page.
