Hey all! I’ve been using the Disney Neon cards as reading motivation for my pre-schooler; she’s obsessed with the princesses and now has a binder and goals! i’ve found that offering her a mystery card every evening after a read to be very effective (been doing this with her brother as well but with Marvel cards). A month into doing this for both of them and, between the struggle to find the packs in Ontario and the general cost of them, I’m thinking there has to be a better way.
Reaching out to see if anyone is interested in letting go of their BASE cards, nothing of value necessary; frankly, doesnt even have to be from this series. I’d happily cover shipping or any reasonable offer. dm me!

My 5 year old is OBSESSED with pokemon. Ive been buying packs from walmart and giving him a single card every night that he practices his reading with me. These overpriced packs have only 8 or so cards (and often a duplicate) so i need to pop back into Walmart and.. theyre sold out, which is .. inconvenient..
At this age, he doesnt care if its a new series or old, or if its got value or not. He just loves the different characters, putting new cards in his binder. I would love to find a local shop where i can just buy 100 or so “bulk” cards for whatever reasonable price.
Any help is appreciated!

i was the sole photographer at a fashion boutique’s little charity runway event last week. photographed the entire proceeding, everything went great. maybe 5 minutes before wrapping, a model asked to be photographed with a stylist friend. i obliged, and moved a light stand just out of the way.

the stand must have tapped the lcd screen on the back of my camera in just the right way so as to not crack the glass but still render the screen useless. white screen with bars.. i say to the pair, “ah shit, i think my camera just broke.”

the immediate response, “oh no! can you use my phone?”

fortunately, this all happened at the end of the event and the files werent damaged, but maaaan..

editing for context, this wasnt a guest of the event, nor the client, just one of the models who had already been photographed by me 300+ times that evening. it wasnt her simply wanting to capture a moment with a friend, it was her getting as many shots out of me over the course of the night. this is all fine, but when the camera is visibly broken and understood to be broken, her immediately sourcing her phone to continue capturing her as the solution with not a glimmer of care…?
