Marathon Cuts of X-Men, Spider-Men, and Hulk the Animated Series by Baliscon

Marathon Cuts of X-Men, Spider-Men, and Hulk the Animated Series by Baliscon

I've been heavily inspired by the "Marathon Cuts" from the Dragon Ball Z orange box sets. It reminded me of the tapes I had when I was young, where there wouldn't be opening or closing credits besides the very start and end of the tape. I took that direction with the 90s animated series for X-Men, Spider-Man, and the Incredible Hulk. Message me for more info if you're interested

Spider-Man the Animated Series Marathon Cuts by Baliscon

Hey everybody, I just wrapped a fairly extensive project making "marathon cuts" out of the X-Men The Animated Series seasons, plus the two X-Men '97 seasons recently released. I was inspired by the old, poorly made Dragon Ball Z orange box sets that included a marathon mode that removed all of the credit sequences besides the very first opening credit and very final closing credit for each disc.

So, I took the same approach to the animated X-Men and now Spider-Man animated series from the 90s. I had so many tapes and dvds from Spider-Man that approached the show in the same way, threading episodes along without credits. Ultimately, cutting the mid-credits saved an hour of time, since the uncut runtime of the series is 21 hours, 49 minutes versus the 19 hours, 55 minutes of the final fan edit runtime.

I have one video edit made per season. I also have a combo edit of The Incredible Hulk series from the 90s if you're so inclined to check that out. All have an added VHS filter applied to help the shows look more like we remembered them.

Send me a message if you'd like to watch!

X-Men The Animated Series/X-Men '97 Marathon Cuts by Baliscon

Howdy y'all. I've been an immense X-Men fan since birth. My dad collected the comics since before he was a teenager, and I grew up with the animated series and subsequent film franchise. X-Men '97 on Disney+ has been one of the greatest gifts any fan could receive, and so I started this project and chose to hold off on releasing it until the latest season of '97 wrapped.

Ultimately, I edited each season "Marathon Cut" style, taking a page from one of the few good aspects of the Dragon Ball Z orange box DVD sets. Each edit in this collection only includes opening and closing credits. Every credit sequence or "previously on X-Men" review has been removed, substantially cutting down on the runtimes of each season. I've edited the two current seasons of X-Men '97 in the same way and was surprised to see that their final runtime fell in line with the previous seasons.

This always felt like a guilty pleasure opinion, but I always preferred this series to Batman the Animated Series. Because the show offered serialized storytelling, I found myself easily hooked into the overarching narrative that was complexly woven across so many diverse characters. The '97 revival series has more than carried the torch, exceeding in dramatic storytelling and mutant mayhem.

I hope that you enjoy this collection for binging at your leisure. I'm currently working on similar edits of the 90s Spider-Man and Hulk animated series. For Spidery I'll likely go one season at a time but since Hulk only got two seasons, I may do his as an all-in-one. Let me know if you're interested in these cuts or the X-Men series that I have finished and ready to share :)

Star Wars Visions - The Ninth Jedi Marathon Cut by Baliscon

Nothing too wild or major here - I've been excited for this spin off series and wanted to prepare a marathon cut for an upcoming watch party. I included the original Visions episode, the sequel episode released during Visions season 3, and the eight-episode spinoff series. There's a single opening credits sequence and end credits sequence - the rest have been eliminated with audio edited to allow for the best transition between chapters. In the style of the spin off episodes, I added a subtitle for the first two segments, "Prologue - Child of Hope."

The fanedit runs just over 4 hours, with 15 minutes cut from credits alone. Send me a message if you're interested!

Backrooms - Baliscon's Cuts (three of them)

I may have gone off the deep end a bit with this project...

First off, I need to give a shoutout to u/TheRandomApple for his incredible work on the posters. He's crafted a slew of posters, some of mine edit among and many more on top of that, and I appreciate his artistry in making such expressive, striking imagery.

After seeing the 2026 film adaptation of Backrooms, I wanted to visit director Kane Parson’s original Youtube series.  Unsure where to begin since the series itself isn’t chronological, I found u/boba627TV’s Async cut of the Backrooms series and was floored by Parson’s imagination, especially in the concepts that reached beyond what the film depicted.  Boba's edit was fun and tense, choosing to rearrange the content for dramatic effect, making the narrative truly feel like a collection of found footage.

Although I don’t have the same breadth of understanding that others possess of the series, and I’m sure I cut out some tidbits that others would find crucial, I still had a lot of fun with this experiment, trying to make a streamlined version of the series that’s as close to chronological as possible.  I ultimately wanted to make a cut that integrates the Youtube series and the movie together, but I wanted to work in stages to better understand the series and arrange the essential elements from the series at large.

I started with BACK/v/h/ROOM/s/, a more or less chronological cut of the Youtube series with 39 minutes cut for the sake of pacing. Then I have Backrooms - The Baliscon Cut, which is a version of the 2026 film cropped to a 4:3 aspect ratio with VHS scanline texture added, along with six minutes cut to improve pacing.

Third and final is Backrooms - The Integrated Cut, an edit that combines the series and film together. I absolutely love the other corners of the Backrooms that the series explores, but because it has such a wide focus, I divided the film up by each major scene and rearranged them across segments from the Youtube series. This way, as the audience learns more about the alternate dimension through POV footage, Clark and Dr. Kline learn more alongside us.

If you choose to watch, I hope you enjoy no matter which version you pick and I hope you get as lost as I did.

Poltergeist - Beyond the Veil by Baliscon

I always thought this movie was really, really, really good, but for whatever reason, it never hit me as great. Iconic, definitely. Scary, sure. That said, some of the pacing lags despite the masterclass writing and directing, and while some effects stand up, others show their age.

I never saw the sequel until recently. The third film always seemed tasteless for being made despite Heather O'Rourke's untimely passing. I wrote off the second film for years until recently giving it a watch and while it's not flawless, I was impressed with the effects sequences, along with the haunting character of Reverend Kane.

While the third Poltergeist seems so far removed with only O'Rourke and Zelda Rubenstein returning, the second film is a strong companion piece to the first, except for the sad absence of Dominique Dunne as Dana. Like I've done in the past with duologies or trilogies like Evil Dead, John Wick, The Hobbit, IT, Insietc., I hoped that stitching the first and second Poltergeist movies would be a worthwhile experience. I sought to limit poor pacing and obvious special effects work throughout, in addition to making adjustments that would allow for the two films to convincingly be part of one narrative.

This edit isn't for staunch fans of either film. In an attempt to tell a singular story, I excised some scenes and lines that diehard fans may enjoy. I can understand that - Even as a fan editor I have movies that I'd rather see unchanged. Hopefully though, there are fans of the Poltergeist franchise out there who, like me, are interested in seeing both stories streamlined and told as one

Original Runtime - 3 hours, 25 minutes
Fan Edit Runtime - 2 hours, 53 minutes
Time Cut - About 10 minutes from Poltergeist and 22 minutes from Poltergeist II

Poltergeist Edits -

- Removed E Buzz walking around the house, introducing the family by visiting each of their rooms. Instead, when the shot of the static on the TV pulls back, I cut to Carol Anne already standing in front of it
- Cut the construction workers hitting on Dana
- Added the track "They're Back" from Poltergeist II when Carol Anne talks to the television set for the second time
- Cut Steven and Diane asking the neighbors if they noticed any strange phenomena lately
- Trimmed some shots from the sequence of the tree taking Robbie. My hope is to make it look less like it's being maneuvered by a crew of people
- Cut some shots when Carol Anne is getting pulled towards her closet, into another realm
- Trimmed the shot of the tornado effect before Carol Anne's taken away to help it look less uncanny
- Cut Robbie screaming that the tree is taking him in
- Shortened the reveal of the floating objects in Carol Anne's bedroom and added a strobe light effect to help distract from the original visual comping effects
- Cut the scientific discussion amongst the researchers, boiling down to there being a way into the poltergeist dimension inside the house
- Trimmed two shots of the special effects work when the doctor peels the skin from his face, especially the wriggling fingers in the final shot that supposedly belong to Steven Spielberg
- Added some of Kane's lines when Diane is trying to talk to Carol Anne on the other side
- Removed the arguments made about Carol Anne going into the light - my family and I have discussed this topic for years, never able to come up with an explanation for what Tangina was trying to accomplish in asking Carol Anne to go into, and then out of the light

Poltergeist II edits -

- Cut around any opening credits during the film's intro, either deleting shots or cropping into the frame. I also added a shot from later in the movie of Kane rather than a flashback to the first film
- Removed the scene with Steven and Robbie fixing a vacuum, along with a later scene with Steven venting to Diane. My intention, besides to hone in on pacing by removing non-essential content, is to limit the shots with Craig T Nelson's longer hair. In the final edit, this is reduced to two fairly brief shots
- Shortened shots of Reverend Kane walking through the people to help call less attention to the special effects
- Removed the pause when Diane and her mom go to sit before going over the story of the first film, along with the flashback Diane experiences
- After their argument, cut Grandma saying she'll be there if Diane needs her
- Cut Carol Anne waking from her parent's bed, kissing her grandma goodnight, and walking to her own bed
- Moved Diane's dream to after Carol Anne says goodbye to her grandma on her phone
- Removed any bit involving Steven's car and Taylor because beyond being quirky, it also leads to a really lame ending
- Cut Diane's argument with Taylor over trying to motivate Robbie, along with another car sequence
- Cut Carol Anne's jump scare for Robbie before his braces attack
- Cut the sequence where Taylor tries to describe Kane's nature to Steven and Diane
- Removed a shot of Steven before the chainsaw first hits the car, hoping this to make the impact more immediate
- Added a color bleed filter to the final sequence in the poltergeist realm to help add more atmosphere to this effects sequence
- Cut the film short before the final car gag, ending on a glimpse at a happy family

▲ 31 r/Robocop+1 crossposts

For years I've had this idea rattling around for a fourth RoboCop film, something in the vein of Blade Runner 2049, taking place 40 years after the original. In this fan fiction, the original RoboCop would be reactivated to supervise a pair of police officers who've landed themselves in hot water.

Resentful of being overshadowed by a relic, the officers betray Murphy, dumping him in a river that leads to the toxic waste ruins outside Delta City. However, they inadvertently drift into the territory of a hateful gang. They attack, leaving the officers as little more than biological scrap.

OCP retrieves the remains and initiates a new Robo-program**. RoboCop 3:** The "quiet" partner is rebuilt as the public face of OCP. While his brain is mostly destroyed, his dark subconscious influences the programming, causing the unit to commit increasingly heinous acts under the guise of "law enforcement." (He's known as RoboCop 3 because while there's an actual "RoboCop 2" in universe, preventing OCP from copyrighting this new unit as such, there was no actual "RoboCop 3.")
RoboCop 4: The headstrong partner is turned into a living tank. Unlike Murphy, he is fully conscious—trapped inside a chassis he cannot control, forced to witness the horrors OCP makes him commit.

I've customized these RoboCops along with some other characters from the fan fiction:

RoboCop - Just a repaint of the Moderoid model, which I think is the best 6-inch sculpt of the character

RoboCop 2 - Not a straight up adaptation of the character, but I tried getting its personality across with the Justice Buster by McFarlane, a Halo series head, and a number of weapons found in my odds and ends bit

RoboCop 3 - An Iron man with a removable head canon attached with a magnet

RoboCop 4 - A War Machine with a head from Star Wars' Finn and a number of magnetized weapons

RoboCop 5 - The corporate suit in charge of OCP's Robo-program, volunteering himself for the change into a more militarized unit

RoboCop 2A - envisioned as Anne Lewis, Robocop's original partner. In my story, Lewis was secretly drafted into the Robocop program at the conclusion of the first film, unable to survive the injuries she sustained. She became the first "RoboCop 2", more of a human-hybrid android than a full on cyborg like her partner.
After being gunned down in the third film, Lewis would have been brought in for further augmentation, turning her into a Swiss army knife of a cyborg. She would go on to captain Delta City's police force, appearing in her humanoid/android form and only revealing her cybernetics when absolutely necessary.

RoboCop X0 - At the very end of my RoboCop fan fiction, the corporation that's influenced and ruined the original RoboCop's life for years offers him a gift in exchange for his silence - a new organic body, indistinguishable from his original. Forty years on from the original film, OCP is capable of bioorganic cloning, and can offer Alex Murphy his original body and mind, all the while providing him with an nano-mechanical suit that can still allow him to act as RoboCop. My primary goal for this custom was to include a rendition of the RoboCop remake design within this fan fiction.

RoboCop X1 - When the original RoboCop refuses OCP's offer of a hybrid organic/cybernetic body, he grants that gift to RoboCop 4. Now with an identical copy of his original body, augmented with a cybernetic suit, this new RoboCop protects Detla City without having to sacrifice his former life.
