She said “f” this job and got mad when I believed her

I’ve been working at this company for almost 3 years. When I got hired on I immediately noticed gaps that we could fix in the company. My coworker and I was a team of two on the program. She’s like the program manager and I’m the assistant. We worked well together up until this summer.
We recently got handed a new role but same pay. She got upset but I found possibilities in it. All summer she kept saying she was only doing the bare minimum and to “f” this job. So I picked up the load. I saw my coworker stressed and I tried to help. She even mentioned that when she doesn’t give her all she knows I have her back 100%. Mind she her salary is twice mine. Well after seeing her really not care about her job I mentioned to our supervisor that she stressed and maybe something needs to be removed her plate. Our boss agreed…..:
The last month of summer my coworker got even more upset and said “f this job, f these kids, f this team”. I was appalled because that meant she was really tapped out. She then went on to say she’s only here for the money and she against only doing bare minimum. And this point I go back to the supervisor and say something has to be done. I don’t want to do her work when I don’t get paid to do her work. I don’t know what the supervisor said to her but now she’s pissed at me because else said “we could’ve talked about this without involving other people”. What she failed to realize is I have tried multiple times to talk to her about it and have texts to prove it. So now we’re enemies. She now talks about me around the office, she refuse to help me with simple tasks, she even tries to get out of work we normally do together saying she’s too busy. I absolutely love my job and also I’m about 13 years older than her. I’m at my wits end because she is literally a snake that I never saw coming….

I just want to do my job at 100% and go home. How can I handle this?

Should I asked for his number?

So I decided to uber before work a few days ago. Picked up this guy in south city. I never really look at my passengers because it’s awkward but they can see me through the rearview mirror.

Anyways we had a 25 min drive to earth city. He explained how he’s going on an interview that day and we talked about everything from his new job to our hobbies etc. we had ALOT of things in common. As the ride ended he proceeded to tell me how I was beautiful inside and out. In my head I was like “dude ask me for my number already!!” When he got out the car he said “can I ask you a question?” I was so ready to give my number, instead he said “do you recommend ChatGPT to help on this interview?”. My heart dropped! We talked for another minute and said our goodbyes.

Three days later I’m kicking myself for not asking but it’s also against Uber rules and I didn’t want to violate his space. But I wish I would’ve taken the initiative 😞.

Do you think I should’ve asked or was I right to just let it go?

since there’s a lot of responses that I should find him, if anyone knows him, show him this 😂 I know his name is AJ, blk male, 52, tall, slim and athletic. He loves cross training and nature. Works in earth city for a company whose name starts with an A, and drives the company truck. That’s all I have to go on.

The conversation was worth the trip

I wasn’t going to take it. But I’m glad I did. $56 ride, $30 uber tip + $20 cash tip. Her parents asked me was I ok to drive their 20 year daughter to the cabins with her friends. I asked was it ok to stop and get gas…. I never did because the girl and I talked the entire trip. It was definitely worth the trip and grateful for the $50 tip!!!!!

I’m not a decorator just a mom

Over the years I’ve always made my kids cakes because we were on a budget. But when they turn mini adults and still look forward to your cakes means EVERYTHING!!! Take a look at my shenanigans over the years and see if I’ve gotten better…..😂😂

My first solo camping experience

Yesterday I went on my first solo camping trip, and I’m so glad I did.
I literally woke up that morning planning to go hiking. Then I randomly thought, “Why not just go camping today?” So I packed up, practiced setting up my tent in the backyard, and hit the road.
It definitely wasn’t perfect. I forgot a plate, struggled to get the campfire going, almost gave up on cooking dinner, and then woke up at 3 a.m. to rain hitting the tent. 😅

But somewhere in the middle of all of that, I realized how much camping forces you to deal with the unknown. Every sound outside the tent makes you wonder what it is. Every little problem is yours to solve. And every time you figure one out, you get a little more confident.
The best part wasn’t even the campground. It was keeping a promise I made to myself. I said I was going camping this summer, and I actually did it.

I’m already thinking about where I’ll go next.

I made my daughters prom dress with no sewing experience

I told my daughter when she was little I would make her prom dress. I thought I’d have enough time to teach myself how to sew but I never did. Four months til prom day we bought materials, ordered the fabric and bought several patterns. She kept saying she trusted me and I couldn’t let her down. This was the finished results…….

It’s my turn to take care of her!

Sorry long post!!
When I was a teenager, I wanted so badly to leave my mom’s house. Not because she was mean or anything. I just wanted my own life. I had my first child at 18 and my boyfriend and I got our first apartment.

About 20 years later, after my divorce, I moved back to Missouri with my kids. My mom had always hated that I moved away. She used to tell me I left the nest too soon. But no matter what, she always supported me.

One time I came home for her 65th birthday. I was in the house alone, and I had this overwhelming feeling that one day she was going to need me. I can’t really explain it. It felt spiritual. It was like I could feel her calling for help before it even happened. I left thinking, “I’m supposed to come back.”

I honestly didn’t want to.

That first year back was rough. I cried all the time because I felt like I had failed. By the second year I accepted it, but I kept telling myself it was temporary.

Then my mom’s health started getting worse.
She’s had problems with her legs for the last couple of years and now she walks with a cane. Every night she’s in pain. At first I was frustrated because she depended on me for everything. “Can you get this? Can you fix this? Can you make me something to eat?” I was exhausted.
But this year something changed in me.

I realized I actually enjoy taking care of her.
Today it hit me: I’m my mother’s keeper.
I have two older sisters, and my mom loves all of us. But I feel honored that I’m the one here with her. I’ve repaired so much around her house, and now I’m saving money so I can build ramps if she ever needs them and remodel the bathroom so she won’t have to deal with stairs.
She spent her whole life taking care of me. Now it’s my turn.

Life didn’t turn out the way I planned, but maybe it turned out the way it was supposed to.
