Hello, I am a second year student and planning on applying for RA. I would like to learn autonomously some statistical software. I already know how to use python, should I also learn R or Stata? What are good books/sources to learn this programming languages from? What are the most used softwares in academia and which ones should I learn?
How strict is ethz policy on recognising exams from other’s universities when enrolling in a second bachelor? I have done a math-heavy STEM degree in Italy and would like to get a second bachelor in mathematics from ethz. Would exams such as analys 1,2 and linear algebra be recognized?
Hello. I come from a STEM background different from mathematics and I am currently doing a master. I have taken analysis 1,2, linear algebra, topology, and measure theory. When my master ends I am considering getting a bachelor degree in mathematics. Apart from the obvious requirements (such as speaking german and ecc...) would ETH recognize the math exams I have taken and convert them to their system, so I don't have to take them again? If so, how would the grades be converted? Thanks.

I am a econ math double major. I have an opportunity to complete my math degree at eth zurich after my MA in econ. Do you think it’s worth to target top PhDs or would I become “too old”? (I would probably graduate at 24)
I have always loved math, but ultimately decided to study economics. I study at a good European uni and have very good grades. I love math and am considering picking up a math double major for two reasons: 1) I love math 2) I wanna boost my chances to land a top economics MA and phd. My question is: since double majoring is unusual in my country, and the work load would be gigantic, would it be a bad sign if I get shitty grades in math courses completely unrelated to economics? (eg physics, group theory, logic …)
