Hey all, im applying to a masters program for fall 2027 and i was reaching out to past professors i had for letters of recommendations. One of my professors agreed as long as i wrote the letter. I did it but it feels dirty. I was glazing myself in the letter, granted i didnt really lie about anything in the letter about my academic and work life. But i only had this professor for one class and he probably doesn’t even remember who i am. It just feels like an ass pull. 🤦

Hey all, i currently work for suffolk county as a social worker and was gonna apply to sbu MSW program. I was wondering if i had a letter of recommendation from my supervisor at work, would that be better than letter of recommendation from previous professors. I also went to sbu for my undergraduate but i was a business finance major.

Once you become a conductor and reach max pay, what is next? Is there higher positions you can test for or is it just overtime, holiday and night differential to get more money?

Hi, im currently 23 working as a investigator for CPS. I spend my entire day talking to clients and drafting/organizing documents that could possibly be used in court. I was wondering if this would be considered good experience? Also what else can i do to strengthen myself as a candidate?

I currently live on long island and work for my county as a social worker but dont have a masters, im 23 and have been doing this since march. Ive always wanted to move back to the city because it’s where my family is from but it seems so hard. I just dont know how id find a sustainable job. Is it even possible?

How is the quality of Lidl’s American meat line Butchers specialty? I was gonna get the chicken the other day because it was 5 lbs of chicken breast for like 12$. Made me worried, why is it so cheap? Is there something im missing?

If i take the corrections test that is out will i ever have to go to a jail other then riverhead and yaphank? Someone at my job today told me their husband is a corrections officer and they regularly have to go up state for work

Best way to study for a civil service exam? Gonna sign up for corrections and park ranger exam. Wanna know some tips to help study. Im also signed up for the nys court officer and am taking a class for that which might help. Wanna make sure i get that 100 for park ranger to get the call.

How is Suffolk county Corrections? Whats the work/work load like? Also what are the hours like. I work for suffolk county department of social services and the case load is pretty high, is it anything like that? Thinking of taking upcoming test. Wanna work in a more controlled environment.

Hey, i was sparring yesterday and got absolutely walked through by someone for a couple seconds. Was kinda embarrassed. I was able to stay up because they were all body shots but was really disappointed in myself because i couldnt use my defense or stand my ground. Im 6,1 170lbs with really long arms so im a lot better at a range. I feel like i coulda done so many other things then just get walked down but i just lose all thought when im sparring sometimes. Any tips?
