I understand the criticism of Ed and Lorraine Warren but I still think the first two Conjuring movies are great horror films.

I completely understand why people don’t like Ed and Lorraine Warren and I’m not here to defend them or their real-life claims.

But if I look at The Conjuring movies purely as horror films, especially the first two, I genuinely think they’re really good.

They’re creepy, entertaining, well-made and have some genuinely scary moments. I actually rewatch the first two at least once every year and I still enjoy them just as much.

I also think Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are fantastic in these movies. Their chemistry is great and I genuinely enjoy watching them play Ed and Lorraine, regardless of what I think about the real people.

I’ve seen people on here say they could easily live without The Conjuring franchise and that’s fair. Everyone has different tastes. But as someone who genuinely loves the horror genre and watches a lot of horror movies, I feel like finding a really good, entertaining horror movie isn’t always easy.

I know the franchise has its flaws, especially the later movies but I still have a soft spot for it.

I also genuinely enjoy the Annabelle movies, especially Annabelle: Creation. I know these movies aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I find them entertaining and rewatchable.

Anyone else feel the same way? I feel like the first two movies deserve some appreciation regardless of what people think about the real Warrens.

Worst thing I’ve ever bought at Trader Joe’s 😭

I usually love Trader Joe’s but this Peach Mango foaming hand soap might genuinely be the worst thing I’ve ever bought there.

The smell is AWFUL. It doesn’t smell like peach or mango to me, it smells like that greasy, vaguely rotten residue left on your hands after washing a plastic container that had old oily takeout in it. Like dishwater mixed with stale cooking oil and a sad attempt at tropical air freshener.

And the worst part is the smell lingers on your hands afterward. I wash my hands and somehow they smell dirtier than before.

Does anyone else hate this stuff?? 😭

I’m grateful for my life, so why am I always waiting for something bad to happen?

Is the world really this broken? Everywhere I look on social media, there’s something heartbreaking happening. And when I look at the people around me, it feels like everyone is going through one thing or another.

I know I’m blessed and I’m deeply grateful for the blessings in my life. But sometimes, being here makes me feel like I’m constantly waiting for the invisible shoe to drop. Like my body is always preparing itself for the next bad thing to happen.

I think I’ve become so used to looking for the next adversity that I don’t know how to fully relax into the moments when things are actually okay. There’s this constant feeling of being on alert, waiting for something to go wrong.

Sometimes I wonder if part of it is because I live by myself. There’s so much quiet and so much time alone with my own thoughts that maybe my mind has too much space to spiral. Or maybe it’s because I’ve somehow made myself the "go-to" person for everyone around me. The person people come to when they need help, someone to listen, a shoulder to lean on or a place to unload their problems. I care deeply about the people in my life but I wonder if constantly absorbing everyone else’s worries has made me more attuned to everything that could go wrong.

And honestly, I don’t really know how to explain or share this feeling of fear. It’s not that I’m ungrateful or unhappy. It’s more like my mind and body don’t know how to trust that I can simply be okay for a while.

Has anyone else felt this way? Do you think it comes from having too much time alone with your thoughts, constantly carrying other people’s problems or just being exposed to so much suffering all the time? How do you quiet that sense of waiting for the next bad thing and learn to actually feel safe in the present?

Why do my New Balance shoes always tear here? Am I just unlucky?

I’ve owned running shoes from multiple brands (Nike, Adidas, ASICS, Brooks, APL, etc.) but for some reason this only seems to happen with my New Balance shoes.

This pair is about a year old and I’ve worn them about the same amount as my other shoes. The heel lining has already torn through (see photo).

The last pair of New Balance shoes I had did the exact same thing. I thought maybe they were too small and that my heel was rubbing because of the fit, so when I bought this pair I went up half a size. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again.

Has anyone else experienced this with New Balance? Is it a design/material issue or am I doing something wrong?

Just curious if this is a common New Balance problem or if I’m an outlier.
