The plague is brutal

The plague is brutal

Obviously, but damn it was harder than I expected. I have one surviving son among my main and side households, but he’s only an infant. I hope he makes it. He’s also an orphan now. Thankfully his big sister happened to age up the same day as the plague death roll and survive.

I think I’m going to make her never marry. She’ll raise all her remaining siblings (two toddlers and an infant currently), study apothecary, and become a healer with a bunch of cats and witchy vibes.

She married a pirate

I have no idea if this is event remotely historically accurate. But one of my current heir’s daughters married a pirate. This is the home I built for them.

Can we get a leave furniture behind option?

I hate when I spend hours building a house and furnishing and decorating it, and then it all disappears if my sim moves out. I know I can go and save the lot to my gallery. But imo it shouldn’t require that. Thats like at least 6 more loading screens with saving it and then placing it again. I wish they’d add a “leave furniture behind” option along with the keep furniture and sell furniture options.

A residential rental for peasants

I’m doing the decades challenge right now. I really wanted to create more humble houses for my sims as they’re all peasants right now. And I wanted the extended family to live together without having to actually control 10 sims. So I made a residential rental using a bunch of medieval cc. Now different branches of the family live in different shacks. So I still see them around as neighbors. The only thing that bothers me about this build is the floor. To use the fences as walls, I had to keep the floor built. Otherwise there’d be no rooms to recognize and designate as different units. So I had to go with a fake grass flooring that doesn’t quite match the actual grass. I tried making it less noticeable with plants and terrain paints, but it’s still noticeable.

Anyways I just wanted to share because I’m proud of it and think it turned out really cool.

Destroying everything

The newly 3 yo I nanny has started destroying everything I make for us to do. I’ll set up an activity for us to do, he’ll immediately knock it down or tear it apart. I’ll set up some arts and crafts type thing and he’ll grab mine and tear it apart. He’s also started getting more physical, like throwing things at me or hitting my leg as he goes by. Not with any apparent anger or other big feelings, but with amusement.

It feels like he’s seeking a reaction so I’ve tried the thing where you go very neutral and not give it any reaction. Not working. I’ve tried explaining how that makes me sad or hurts when he does that. Clear instructions/corrections. “That’s not what we do with x, this is what we do with x etc”. I’ll give warnings to stop a behavior or x is going away/we can’t play this anymore (and follow through with it). None of its working and I’m starting to dread work everyday.

Any tips on what else to try? I know impulse control is low at this age. Am I fighting a losing battle? I’m only with him ~15 hrs a week. So he’s probably not getting consistent rules/boundaries between all the Nannies and parents.

Picking between Foundation, Farthest Frontier, or Banished?

I really like management sims. And all three of these look cool. But which is the best in your opinion? I can only get one at the moment.
