Follow up of neighbour kicking off

Basically I want to put a fence up now so I don’t have to deal with him at the front of the house. This is a photo from my drive looking to the side of the garage where the front of his property is. My question is do I need to notify him if I put a 3ft fence on top of that wall?

Any idea of the wall is mine or shared?

Note - he has a doorbell camera and I’m pretty sure it covers down the side of my garage here. Is this allowed?

Neighbour kicking off?

Not strictly home improvement but is part of a wider issue with neighbour getting annoyed at any kind of noise, including home improvement such as roof repairs, garage door replacement etc.

Is he being a knob or is his reaction warranted. This took place at 11:30 am on a Friday in a rural uk setting. I cut up some logs and chopped some for 30mins. Yesterday we had the garage door replaced. They slam doors and make comments whenever do make any kind of noise but today it escalated.

*Note - they don’t work nights. He’s unemployed she works from home. He was out front after and I said if you’ve got an issue don’t shout and swear at me over the hedge come round. I was reasonable with them and they backed down a bit but ultimately don’t want me chopping logs ever. He said he remembers when I did it last summer and it annoyed him.

He tried to tell me to buy pre chopped logs.

Rate my log store

Finally upgraded the old log store. Used some old oak sleepers cut down to form the frame. Pallets on the bottom and ship lap roofing with a gutter along the back. Measures about 2.4m x 0.8m x 1.8m.

C40 service

Hi all, just looking for opinions on the following. I took my 2023 c40 for a service at Volvo. It’s a lease vehicle which I’m buying at end of lease so want everything sorting.

The didn’t pick up on the torn wipers so I had to report it post service and they fixed. They also don’t seem to have topped the washer fluid up - not a big deal but I’m sure they’re meant to and seem like they’re cutting corners.

Anyway the two main points are in the below images. My passenger side wiper seems to be missing an insert where the screen wash is squirted out. The driver side (also shown is noticeably different). Is this normal, does something needs replacing here?

Secondly, I noticed dripping under the car. Pretty sure it’s the air con but I looked and noticed the under tray seems cracked around a nut. Should this be replaced.

No mention of any of these on the service.

Volvo c40 or cupra born

My Volvo company car lease is about to end. I’ve had it 3 years from new. C40 single motor core model. 28k miles. Has been great no issues, just had 4 new tyres and a service. I can buy it out for 16k. Seems quite a good price.

Alternatively I had already ordered a cupra born v1 long range on salary sacrifice costing me approx £315/ month in take home pay all in. Comes with home charger also (I currently use a granny with no issues on my driving needs).

What do you guys think is the better option?

Odd Neighbours?

We live in a detached house in a village setting. We’ve been doing lots of renovations and general maintenance over the years with outside work taking place during spring/summer. Mostly comprising roof repairs, pergola roof replacement, log store construction, jet washing patio and driveway, yearly trimming of conifer hedge, installing new gate, reroofing shed, chain sawing and chopping logs.

We do make some noise but it’s not continuous, excessive or outside reasonable hours as far as I believe.

We had new neighbours 2 years ago. We made an effort to welcome them by going round with a card and flowers. We got a weird vibe from them. Anyway they keep making comments in their garden when we make any kind of noise, swearing and slamming doors - clearly pissed off about what we’re doing. One time they put a wildlife camera facing over our driveway, it moved after I give it a firm look. They throw hedge clipping over the fence at night (I know they’re allowed but we’re talking 2/3 clippings I would think most people just put in the bin). They confronted me when I was cutting the hedge saying I was invading their privacy and I need to inform them before hand. Nothing has kicked off but there is clearly tension. They ignore us and us them. They excessively feed birds also putting down approx 1 loaf of bread a day on the lawn over 3 sittings. They’ve attached netting to our boundary fence to try and stop our cats jumping over and planted spikey bushes.

It doesn’t really bother us and they could be much worse but we do get anxious/conscious when making any kind of noise now. Do you think their concerns are legit or are they being unreasonable.

Thanks

Note - I’m unsure how relevant it is but they’ve apparently moved house 23 times. Seems a lot to me and may be suggestive that they have a tendency not to get along with people.
