Hi everyone. Situation is as title reads — last week, I ended up with 5 styes in one week. One in the right eye, two then appeared on left eye, then another on the right, then another on left. They appeared in different spots despite: warm compresses and ocusoft eyelid wipes. I went to urgent care and they prescribed me a topical antibiotic which got rid of them. Well today, a new one has just appeared.
I’ve always been prone to styes around allergy season, but have not had this many in such a short amount of time. I’m afraid it’s bc I’ve moved to NYC and my eyes aren’t adjusting well, or that it’s something in my apartment.
I just made an appt with an optometrist. Is there hope for me?? I want to be able to wear my contacts and mascara like I used to :(

I, 28f/single, am moving to Astoria from Washington DC at the end of this month. I’ve wanted to live in New York for years now. I finally got the opportunity as my job is okay with me relocating to their New York office, I’ll be living with two friends as they have a room open, and some of my best friends live in the city.
Some context: this is my biggest move since I went to college in dc. I grew up in nj (closer to philly) so I’m more familiar with the area around New York, but still intimidated.
I’ve been so excited up until now. Suddenly, the weight of the move and the anxiety has become crushing. I’m afraid I’m too late to move as my friends already have such established lives in dc, or that I’m not going to be able to find a routine and community and regret moving.
I know a lot of this is catastrophic thinking. But I’m suddenly so worried I’m going to regret moving. Do you have any success stories of feeling like this and getting through it? Thanks :)
