The Notebook Prompt That Actually Changed How I Use It

I stopped asking Notebook to “summarize this.”
Now I ask: “What do these sources agree and disagree on?”The answers became way more useful, especially when I’m working with multiple sources.
What’s your favorite Notebook prompt?

I tried greeting my roommate but it didn't go well.

I recently moved into the dorms on the other side of the country to study. Upon moving in, I greeted my roommate once he entered the room, walked up to him and said, "Hey, how are you doing?" I was just trying to introduce myself naturally and strike up a conversation.
But his response was definitely off. He told me, "Worry about yourself," and then proceeded to ignore me afterward.
I don't know if there was something wrong with how I approached him, but I was just trying to get along with my roommate since we're in the same room. Did I make a mistake?
Honestly, I am not sure now how I am going to respond to that. Has anyone else had a bad first interaction with their roommate that went this badly?

I Make Weird Ocean Videos as a Side Project

I started making short videos about weird ocean animals and random facts. I research the topic, write a quick script, create the video, and post it.
Some videos flop, but a few surprisingly get thousands of views. It started as a hobby, but now I’m slowly turning it into a side income.
The funny part? The more niche and weird the topic is, the more people seem to watch.

What actually matters in Sales & Trading interviews?

For anyone trying to break into Sales & Trading: focus less on memorizing finance terms and more on understanding markets, having a strong market view, and communicating clearly under pressure.

What’s one finance career lesson you learned the hard way?

Grades and a good resume help, but they’re not everything. Networking, communication, and knowing how to present yourself matter a lot too.
For those already in finance, what’s one thing you wish you knew when starting out?

Anyone investing in app-based car rentals?

I recently started investing in a car rental app where you invest in vehicles instead of owning one yourself. The app manages everything, and you earn a share of the rental income. I like that it’s a hands-off side hustle, but I’m still learning how the returns compare to other investments.
Has anyone else tried this? What has your experience been so far?

AI Search is good, but not always right

I’ve been trying different AI search tools lately and they’re really fast. But sometimes the answer sounds confident even when it’s not correct. I still end up checking the original sources before I trust it.
For people building AI apps, what search API are you using now? Which one gives the most accurate results in your experience? I’m curious what others are finding.

Anyone else think resumes are getting way too cluttered?

I’ve been looking at a lot of resumes lately, and one thing keeps standing out—people try to fit in everything.
Personally, I’d rather see a clean resume with a few strong, measurable achievements than a long list of responsibilities.
Curious if recruiters and hiring managers feel the same. What makes a resume stand out to you?

Trying to Break Into Capital Markets? Here’s What Actually Helped Me

When I first started learning about Capital Markets, I wasted time trying to learn everything at once.
What made the biggest difference was keeping it simple:
Learn the financial statements.
Understand basic valuation.
Follow the markets every day.
Get comfortable with Excel.
Practice explaining a recent market event.
For those already working in Capital Markets, what do you wish you had focused on earlier? Your

Bro stopped looking for the “best” Search API.

I’ve been trying different search APIs for a side project, and one thing I noticed is people spend too much time looking for the “best” one.
Turns out There really isn’t one.
Some are better for Google results. Others are better for AI search or pulling clean content from websites.
I ended up using different tools depending on what I needed instead of forcing one API to do everything.
Curious if anyone else does the same, or do you just stick with one?

I Get Paid to Wear a Camera on My Head

Sounds weird, but I literally record my daily life with a head-mounted camera. Companies use the footage to train AI and robotics—and they actually pay for it.
What’s the weirdest side hustle you’ve heard of?

Technical Skills Won’t Get You Hired Alone

I spent weeks studying accounting, valuation, and financial modeling. Then I got to interviews and realized they cared way more about how I think and communicate than memorizing technical stuff.
Biggest lesson? Technical skills can get you the interview, but if you can’t explain your thoughts clearly, it’s gonna be hard to get the offer.
Anyone else learned this the hard way?

Stop Sending Generic Pitches

One thing that helped me get more UGC clients was sending personalized messages instead of copypaste pitches. Brands notice the effort. I also stopped charging too low because quality work deserves fair pay.
What’s been your biggest struggle as a UGC creator—finding clients or pricing your work?

How I Connected Claude to My Local Files Using MCP

Bro, I got tired of copying and pasting files into Claude every time I needed help. So I set up an MCP server and connected a few local folders. Now Claude can read my files, summarize docs, and help me edit code right from my workspace.
It honestly made my workflow way smoother and saved me a ton of time.
The best part? Claude doesn’t get access to your entire computer. With MCP, you decide exactly which files and tools it can use. That’s what makes it so useful.

My honest experience in investment banking

When I first started preparing for investment banking, I thought good grades were enough.
Turns out, they aren’t. Lol
Recruiters care about how you think, how you explain your ideas, and whether you actually understand financing not just memorize interview answers it.
One mistake I see a lot is people spending hours memorizing technical questions. Hey i did that. That’s fine, but if someone asks a followup question and you can’t explain your answer, it shows.
Another thing that helps is staying updated with the market. Even 15–20 minutes of reading financial news every day makes a difference. You’ll have more to talk about in interviews.
If you don’t have an internship yet, don’t stress too much. Build your own financial model, analyze a company, or join a case competition. Showing initiative is better than waiting for the “perfect” opportunity.
You don’t have to know everything.
You just need to show that you’re willing to learn and that you’re serious about the career.
Do not use the “ fake it till you make bro” it doesn’t help. You really need to learn, study repeat.
