Ability to attack enemies below you

I’d hope we get in the next update the ability to attack enemies when they’re below us.

For example, if any enemy detects me while I’m at the roof of a building and he’s below at ground. I can’t jump and hit him. I have either to free jump on ground or start climbing down the building. There should be an attack for similar situations

Edit: In the og, you were able to assassinate enemies in these situations, most probably they will dodge your hit, but at least there was a prompt that would help you attack them even if you won’t kill them

Edward Death in future dlcs/sequel

Would you like to see Edward’s death in future dlcs/sequel ?

Edward is my favorite ac protagonist, one of my favorite in general. And I’m desperate to see his death on screen lol.

I get ubi doesn’t like to kill their protagonists for many reasons. Like in case of any future projects, and to also play it safe in terms of writing. Thats why most ac protagonists death are kept unknown.

But for Edward, we already know how and when he dies. So it doesn’t make any sense that an iconic character like him dies in a novel that most fans didn’t read. It doesn’t do him any justice.

Give him a proper farewell, and honor him to be the first ever main ac protagonist to die on screen. Ik that in the novel, Edward’s death is a little dumb. I won’t mind if ubi slightly change it to make it more emotional and make more sense.

And ubi, commercially this will break the internet and the ac community even if it was just a dlc.

Just don’t ruin things please, do proper cutscenes and great writing if this was ever to happen.

What do you guys think ?

Predictions on when NG+ will be released?

It has been quite sometime from the time they said the game would have NG+. Any predictions on when do you think it’ll be released?

I might say it could be announced at gamescom

And what should we expect in this NG+? Like I’m very excited for it, mainly because the game is amazing, yet I don’t wanna get underwhelmed. Should I expect something like some new outfits and cosmetics with the addition of nightmare difficulty and that’s it ?

Or something like more cosmetics, weapons, ship stuff, hb combat, more combat animations, maybe a new tool to quick use it, more islands and content to explore. Maybe go a little further and modify the placement of the world without gold chapter to be more suitable for the story? Etc…

I never really paid attention to NG+ in games before so I kinda don’t know what to expect

If the game was to have a new quick tool. What would you like it to be ?

I really wish we have a new quick tool similar to how the sweep, kick, rope dart and pistol work. These are the most fun things in the combat.

It could be a different thing than a tool. Something similar to the kick and sweep

So if the devs were to add a new tool. What would you like it to be ?

I’d say maybe the ability to grab enemies and push them where I want. Like I could grab them and push them in any direction, maybe push them on other enemies and open a double takedown, maybe push them on the wall like the kick and then open a takedown. Could also use the enemies to parry attacks ( similar to the enemies shield when being shot)

And for the tool, I don’t think I have something in mind tbh. Maybe just expand the usage of the tools we already have. For example, add the option to hang enemies with the rope dart the same way as the og. Add more combos using those quick tools. Maybe tie new animations to them.

The combat is genuinely great. But it’s in a desperate need for more variety. With more variety implemented, imo this would be the best combat in the non-rpg ac games by far

Which AC game has the best story and writing

Following the best protagonist post, which ac game do you personally think has the best story ?

Origins
Black flag
Revelations
These are my contenders

I’d go for Black Flag Resynced

Cool foreshadowing

One of the coolest stuff I noticed though I played the og couple of times and resynced that in this specific scene. Kidd knew that this was Duncan outfit. So he most probably wanted to make sure if Edward is the one who really killed him.

What’s more cool is that he said Havana ( the city were Duncan were going to) and not cape bonavista ( were he was killed). Which is more realistic and immersive because the assassins couldn’t know where he died exactly.

James Kidd is such a a very cool character and a very smart one

Edit:

We all thought Edward was aura farming here, but Kidd was the one doing so lol

And the ahh at the end ( which sadly I cut the video before James finishes it) is a very obvious sign that he was making sure whether it was Edward or not

Note: James Kidd here was with the assassins, and he mentioned that he was with the assassins since few years ago when Edward met him at tulum

Exploration in this game is INCREDIBLE

I’ve almost 60 hours in the game now. And I just wanna give credit for Ubisoft Singapore and the teams that worked on the exploration in this game. This is a very HUGE improvement from the og.

From the smallest details like adding few dialogue lines in assassin and naval contracts to make each one of them feel unique and different. To the local events you interact with while walking through different cities. To the riddles scattered in the game about treasures and valuables and etc… This is by FAR the best exploration Ubisoft did in any of its games. And I also can see it being one of the best games overall at this point in particular

Just hope the teams that worked on it sees this. You did really Great work on exploration guys !!

Ending scene

[SPOILER]

I’m really glad they watered Edwards eyes a little bit at the ending scene. Adds more depth and emotion to an already very emotional scene

Such a cool detail 👏

BFR New Chapter !

[SPOILER]

Just finished the Robert Maynard’s chapter. And tbh, it exceeded my expectations.

I thought it’d be a good chapter, thought it’d be close in quality as the padre quests for example (which was actually a good quest). Not as good as the main story, but good enough to keep me immersed and attached to the game.

But it was actually a lot better! The narrative in this chapter was very good and it serves the story well enough. I liked the use of the 3 officers in this chapter, they’ll had their role in this mission and it was pretty good.

Anne Bonnie was also decent ( her voice kinda annoys me tbh lol)

I also respect Ubisoft for trying to introduce new mission designs and structures rather than repeating the same ones from previous ac games or from the game itself. They tried to be creative and this is something we don’t usually see in latest ac games ( like fighting with a Spanish fleet against an English fleet, gave me the feeling of a battle between two armies, the final ship battle was great)

Surprisingly the cutscenes at the beginning and the ending of this chapter was really good. Especially the last scene with Blackbeard, I got goosebumps when he appeared.

The only negative take on this chapter is that the cutscenes at the middle of the chapter weren’t mocapped. I believe if they were mocapped, This chapter could’ve easily end being one of the best chapters in the game. Yet I still find it on par with the main story chapters, But it even had the potential to be better.

Also I believe the best time to play this chapter is before the death of Mary and not as an epilogue after the story ends.

Edward in this chapter is more similar to the greedy immature man that chased gold and fame.

Edit: Robert Maynard was also a quite good character, he was smart enough to notice Edward’s blindness when it comes to gold and fame. Wish if there’s a sequel/dlc/expansion for the game, we could see him more there.

Thoughts?

You can kill crocodiles using berserk dart !

Another way to kill animals with one shot is using berserk dart. Someone has already posted you could kill them instantly if you headshot them with a pistol.

I believe other equipments and tools you have like sleep dart, smoke bomb and rope dart would help us kill animals quickly

u/Old-Newt-7167 — 2 months ago

You could disable the bell with your rope dart !

That’s from JorRaptor latest video. Such a cool addition that I believe wasn’t in the og

How much will BFR sell ?

So this quite an important question for the future of the franchise and specifically the future of the og games remakes.

Ubisoft has officially announced 3 weeks after BFR reveal that the game so far is among the highest selling ac games.

With a quick calculation,

Valhalla sold +20m
BF ~17m
Then a bunch of ac games with 10 to 13m sold copies.

And if BFR is among the best selling as ubi mentioned, then I could say the remake could end having around 10m copies sold.

Which is considered great for a brand new game, what if this is even a remake!

Those numbers could even go higher if the game performs great at launch and the ‘word of mouth’ between ppl is positive

I believe in worst cases, the game would get 7-8 m sold copies and in best cases, it would be the same as the og.

Predictions ?

BFR Metacritic Rating ?

So The hidden one posted this on x. And I find it really interesting to know how people think this remake will be compared to the og.

I genuinely believe it’ll be slightly higher maybe 89-91

Most of the things in the remake so far is promising, I don’t think the new side cutscenes or removal of freely using hb would really affect the game critics.

Hunting is similar to many other games and these games weren’t criticised for their hunting system, in addition to, I believe assassinating animals, one shot kill with pistols and darts are still there as well. So I don’t think this will also affect the game rating.

These are the main criticisms so far…

The additions and improvements are too much that I’m lazy to mention.

The amazing story the og had is still there, mechanics and gameplay improved.

So I think a slight improvement from the og would be realistic and make sense.

Btw, if it got 90 or 91 it’ll be officially the highest ac game rated on metacritic.

Current rating:
ACII 90
AC brotherhood 89
AC Black Flag 88

I’d like to know everyone predictions and why. More importantly, say it respectfully please ☺️

Remake v Original

I think they made Caroline look more beautiful🤔

But how those Anne gooners told us Ubisoft wants to uglify women🤔🤔

Never mind, i think Ubisoft MISTAKENLY made her look better

BFR in Summer Game Feast ?

So it’s officially confirmed, BFR will be in summer game feast on Friday. So what do you think we will see?

I probably think it’ll be a New Story trailer. Featuring all the characters in the og that we haven’t seen so far ( they’re many btw) or the characters that didn’t appear that much so far. I believe we will also most probably see a glimpse of the new main story chapter and maybe see Robert Maynard. Maybe also we learn more about the new 3 officers

Maybe a CGI trailer ? I personally don’t think so, but who wouldn’t love to see a new AC CGI trailer !

This one might be optimistic, but I have a feeling that they would have a beloved og feature that the fans liked back to the game. I wish it’s freely using HB or picking up weapons. Anyways I’m just being very optimistic and they’ve already confirmed hb being removed.

Anyways, any other expectations from this event ?

Hidden Blade in BFR

I’m actually from the type of people who aren’t really affected by the removal of freely using hb. I played syndicate and unity few years ago and I haven’t noticed that I couldn’t use hb unless few months ago. Even in the RPG era, I wasn’t really affected by the fact that hb isn’t there.

Even in the BF og I didn’t use the hb a lot, because I always felt the double swords looked better and made more sense in combat. That was my preference and I’m sure a lot agree with it.

So why did many people liked hb in the og ? I genuinely believe it was because of the simple and very easy combat system. It was very easy that you’ll get to master it in maybe less than an hour of gameplay. Though this simple system offered really cool finishers, and what elevated it even further is that each weapon had different cool takedowns. So I believe that most people who used hb or other weapons did it because the combat system was too boring and the only way to make it feel better was using other weapons to watch the unique finishers they have. And in BFR, combat clearly has more depth than the og.

Yet, i still believe BFR should get back the hb. Simply because it’s the most requested thing since the game reveal. Literally, even people who aren’t familiar with franchise would like to try hb combat in BFR. Hb is unarguably the most iconic weapon in video games so everyone even if they’re not an AC fan, would like to give it a try in resynced.

Thus, I want you to imagine if Ubisoft few days before release, announced that players will be able to use hb freely. How much hype will this bring to the game. Even for people who wasn’t really interested in the game in particular or in ac games in general, the hype might change their mind. All nitpicking and cherry picking from haters would almost completely vanish.

Though as I said upwards, I don’t think hb will add much in terms of gameplay, maybe more variety. But the hype it’ll bring is worth reconsidering your decision Ubisoft.

Last thing I wanna talk about, and it’s actually the main reason that made me write this. I’ve seen two videos that made me feel optimistic this might happen. First, JorRaptor mentioned in his preview that he believes using hb freely might come back. Secondly, I’ve seen a video for the hidden one on X, he uploaded a video where Edward for a brief moment in combat, would be fighting in hb stance. This actually appears in many combat videos not only the one he uploaded.

Last point is the drunken loading screen, it might be an unintentional mistake, but it also might be a smart way of marketing. Showing ppl an unreal footage that looks similar to an og footage, then the day after showing the real one so ppl anger would change to praise. So maybe Ubisoft is doing the same here, they confirmed hb isn’t available, but if they later announced it’s coming back people will praise Ubisoft for listening to their fans.

I don’t want myself or anybody to get overly optimistic about it. I just hope Ubisoft reconsider it if they aren’t actually willing to bring it back. And if they’re working in it then great !

I guess I wrote too much lol 😅

Ships Strength indicator

I like how Ubisoft changed the ships strength indicator from levels to stars, so those people who complain about anything wouldn’t be like “you said this is not an RPG, but still there’s leveling systems in the ships!”

Though it was in the og, but you’ll still find people who complain. And literally almost all open-world games do have RPG elements but how much is implemented is what differs from each game

Even though it’s a very tiny change, but tbh I can’t really blame them for doing it. And I also somehow like the stars too

Another thing I like is,that they also added few amount of reales in brigs. Which is also a small detail, but it makes more sense now that even smaller ship would have fewer amount of money

Does Ac Black have the best side character in the franchise and one of the best in video games ?

[SPOILER]

I’ve always been thinking about this, many ac games have some great side characters. Like the ezio trilogy, 3, even rogue had good side characters. But when I look at bf, the number of great, well written side characters and how impactful they’re to the story is amazing. Blackbeard, Ade, James kid, Roberts, Stede, Hornigold, Vane, Anne bonne, Reckham, Torres (though I personally don’t like him much, he’s still important to the story), Roger, Ah Tabai, even Duncan Walpole who appeared literally for minutes had a great impact on the story etc… they’re all essential characters for the game and they’re really a big reason why this game was great. I actually like to compare it RDR2, so many characters, yet somehow they’re all related and important to the story. And I believe the og is arguably one of the best video games in terms of side characters

If resynced somehow is able with these robotic cutscenes to introduce other good side characters, that I feel emotinally attached to, then I could unquestionably say this is one of the best video games in terms of side characters if not the best.

It’s actually disappointing that Resynced isn’t mocapping this new side cutscenes. One of Bf strong advantages was it cutscenes

I actually feel very excited for Resynced except for the cutscenes

Whether you agree or disagree, please stay respectful 🙏🙏
