This Hungary match is one of the most underrated performances of Ronaldo's international career.

People remember Euro 2016. What many forget is that Portugal were on the verge of going out in the group stage. They went behind three times against Hungary, and Ronaldo responded with 2 goals and an assist. Without that performance, there is probably no Euro 2016 story to tell🏆

​

What also gets forgotten is where Portugal stood exactly 10 years ago in June 2016. They had no international trophies and a reputation for always falling short. By the end of that summer, Portugal were champions, and their football history had changed forever, but to this day Ronaldo doesn't get the credit he deserves for being the pillar of Portugal team in good & bad times equally.

That's why I find today's social media discussions so frustrating. This generation is constantly called the "most talented" Portugal has ever had, yet whenever things go wrong, the conversation somehow finds its way back to Ronaldo. The narratives change. The goalposts move. History gets rewritten. When Portugal win, it's because the squad is stacked. When Portugal lose, it's because Ronaldo wasn't enough🤡

I'm not saying Ronaldo will repeat what he did a decade ago, because he's not the same player anymore, and we as fans need to understand that before jumping into debates.

Have faith. If this golden generation is truly as good as people say, they will step up when it matters. But don't fall into media narrative of blame game where we fans start to keep falling for Clickbait headlines, attack other players family members on Comment sections & engage with troll accounts

What do u guys think will be the starting lineup next match and who needs to be subbed in and what time?

Look at it. One shot in 45 minutes despite having most of the possession. Endless sideways passing, endless recycling of the ball, and almost zero intent to actually attack the box. You have Ronaldo up front and somehow the game plan is to avoid playing early balls into him and keep passing backwards.

And before people start blaming Ronaldo, what exactly is he supposed to do? Score goals out of thin air? A striker can't finish chances that are never created.

​

This isn't prime France or Argentina they're facing. This is DR Congo, yet Portugal played like a team terrified of taking risks. So much talent on the pitch, yet the attacking patterns are completely lifeless.

Possession means nothing when all it produces is one shot in an entire half. Absolute waste of a golden generation.

​

First things first: I'm a huge Cristiano fan, so yes, there's some bias here. I got this card mainly because it's Cristiano, not because I expected one of the best cards in the game.

​

That said, I think a lot of people judge this card unfairly. This is a 41 year old Ronaldo card, not a prime Madrid or Man United version. For what it's supposed to represent, it's actually a very solid card💪🏻

​

One thing I really like is how adjustable the build is. Unlike usual Ronaldo cards, you can push his speed/acceleration & dribbling stats much higher without completely sacrificing everything else. That alone makes him feel more usable than many people give him credit for.

​

I still think Konami missed a trick by giving him only Willpower. If this card had Bullet Header + Willpower, it would've been a genuinely elite card. His heading is already strong, but Bullet Header would've taken it to another level.

​

As for Willpower itself, I've actually found it useful. Once it starts activating, the boost to finishing and kicking power becomes noticeable, especially on long-range shots. I personally try to shoot range shots at start just to get his willpower points up as the match moves on. Ronaldo cards have always been dangerous shooters, and this one is no different🚀

​

The biggest thing to understand is that you can't use him like a prime Ronaldo. Don't expect him to dribble & outrun every meta CB or Jump Superhigh constantly to score Banger headers. You need to create space for him, feed him good passes, and let him attack the box. Play to his strengths and he'll reward you always🔥

​

The G/A stats here won't blow anyone away on paper, but they're also mostly from PvP Division matches so it's realistic stats mostly.

​

Overall, this isn't a card that will suddenly transform your account. It's a card for players who want a good customizable Ronaldo card that has good Agility stats & very reliable shooting thanks to Willpower skill and lethal Headers like every Ronaldo card.

Packed him from the Chelsea Highlights pack about a month ago, & after 100 matches, mostly in Divisions, I can honestly say he's been excellent for me.

His stats won't impress you on paper: 2 goals and 18 assists in 100 matches. But considering these matches are almost entirely from Division PvP games, those numbers actually give a pretty accurate picture of the role he plays in my team.

Caicedo isn't the type of player who scores bangers every week. His job is to win the ball, recover possession, play the right pass, and start attacks. The few goals he has are mostly from loose balls or the occasional well-timed run, while most of his assists come from quick transitions and counterattacks, where he wins the balls at critical time etc⚽

His biggest strength is how much ground he covers. With good pace and strong defensive stats, he's constantly winning the ball back, intercepting passes, and helping start attacks. I don't see him as a pure defensive anchor like Rijkaard or Zakaria. He's more of a midfield runner who recovers possession and moves the ball forward quickly. His positioning is excellent, his passing is reliable, and he rarely feels out of the game💪🏾

Obviously cards like Makelele are still better Destroyers, but for a Highlight card, Caicedo has been outstanding for me. Easily one of the best non-Epic card I've used recently.
