Offer her Churu lickables and she just turns into a sloppy mess 🤣

Love popping out and seeing what my pepper plants have ready for me every morning now. Today I had Jalapeño, Habanada, poblanos, White Fatalii, Aji Mango, Candy Cane and some amazing (though surprisingly hot!) bonnets. Can’t wait for tomorrow 🤣
Absolutely loving the White Fatalii which are just starting to ripen - lots of them, look stunning; taste amazing and a good belt of heat too. I’ve got some beautiful actual scotch bonnets and had some lovely poblano off this week but think Fatali might be my new favourite.
Went for Shadow but ended up with him and his sister…..and I’m so glad we did! 2.5 years with them now and they’re still in love 🥰
Been waiting ages but went to feed my plants earlier and found the first ripe Habanada and White Fatali….about time too! 🤣
Not ready yet but happy to see my Bonnets are actual bonnets and growing really prolifically too. Closely followed by Habanero and White Fatali, they’re all pumping out the numbers - just need them to ripen now 🤞🔥
At last, my polytunnel has started to produce some beautiful pods. Can’t wait for the hots and superhots to start to ripen now 🔥
Tried a new sweet pepper for the kids to snack on this year, Chocolate Cherry Candy Cane. Got to say they have amazing looking variegated plants, beautiful looking peppers and really go down well on flavour front too. If you’re after a new sweet pepper than would highly recommend.
Back after a little vacation and all he wanted was a nap, poor guy wasn’t happy with being told he had to get up 😂
Hi all - with heatwaves hitting both sides of the Atlantic, thought it might be an idea if people share hints and tips to keep our furry friends cool so no one ends up with a heat stressed pet. They don’t always show it but cats can suffer with heat stress the same as any animal and need help to drink and keep their temperature under control.
I’ll go first, we put ice cubes in with their water - guaranteed to get them paddling and queuing to have a drink! 🤣
So happy to see these bad boys starting to flower and fruit now. Already been tempted and tried one before it was fully ripe and the flavour was awesome with a decent hit of heat too, can’t wait until they are white and ready to go en mass. Anyone else had any experience with these? What’s the final flavour profile?
He’ll jump if there’s a loud bang but apparently it’s perfectly acceptable to switch the electric piano and metronome on and just sit there, composing 😂
Worked last year….praying it will this year, the protective ring of pumpkins to keep my corn safe 🤞🤞
Usually I lift and cure my onions when the leaves start to wilt but it feels a little early this year. They look OK I guess but I usually lift them in July. Looking at the forecast though, would I be better doing them now so they can get a warm, dry week to start curing? The ones with the flopped foliage I am considering, not the other variety which is still standing.
He does make work a lot more enjoyable 🥰
Just knocked up a quick batch with some of last year’s frozen plums and ghosts from the garden.
1.3lb plums.
2/3 cup cider vinegar.
5 oz brown sugar.
1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger, same of all spice, 1 star anise and teaspoon of freshly ground cumin.
Cooked the lot for about 20 minutes with probably 20 or so dried ghosts, then blended.
It’s sweet, tangy and really, really hot!!
To say it’s still May (just!) and these are in an unheated poly tunnel, genuinely happy with how they are coming on 😀.
First couple are Armageddon from an overwintered plant, third photo is Lemon Drop from an overwintered plant. Fourth are Corno Di Toro Rosso, 5th Candy Cane, then Jalapeño and Poblano - all from plants started just after New Year.

Could never really grow anything under an old apple tree on the plot so decided to dedicate the space to wild flowers and plants for pollinators. Turned out to be one of my best decisions, I love how it looks and it attracts so many pollinators, birds and even a deer that beds down every so often. It costs me next to nothing and is hardly any work….might be the best bit of my plot 😂
Love how he can just flop out and let the world go by….waking only for food and rumbling with his sister 🤣
