Summer’s coming to the south east!
I’ve been so jealous of people with huge plants whilst mine are small still, however, it looks like prayers are to be answered!

Temps are now above 10c overnight, autopots turned on
Anyone else had much success with autopots ?
Hey guys, first year growing chillies. My plants have started to produce buds but from what i understand its to early in the season in the UK and the plants arnt in there final pots yet. Alot of what i have read says the buds should be pinched off for now. Doni also pinch off the little leaves around the bud which are on the fork of another leaf? Thanks in advance
If you’ve had a conservatory, you know the general problems with them being really cold at night and baking hot when it’s sunny. Would this environment be too difficult to keep my chilies in? Should I keep them inside under grow lights instead?
Chillies are in the middle, toms to the left and various squashes/pumpkins and some plants on the right.
Plenty of vermiculite in the soil mix, I have noticed a few of them are starting to go pale green/almost silver in the leaves. I'm hoping they recover when the weather gets nicer.
Back of the greenhouse I have a couple more with one having a flower on it already.
A few of them have sun scald as I didn't harden them off properly but so far so good
Cayenne
Scotch bonnet
Kashmiri
Buena meta
Choc Habanero
OJ Thai
Zebrnage
Dream Catcher
Black Jalapeno
Have hardened them off over the course of two weeks, got them in 3/5/10 litre pots in the greenhouse. Fingers heavily crossed for them.
Hi! Had to start my chillies in early april after a failed batch i sowed in march didn't sprout. These are about 4 weeks old and I don't know why they aren't bigger, I've got lights on them all day and they're in a little greenhouse in my flat
Is anyone able to diagnose this for me? It’s now appearing on the majority of my plants. They were all started indoors in January, and have been under grow lights since. The lights are about 30-40cm from the canopy of the plant and I’m getting about 200-300 PPFD. I have been feeding these with chilli focus every other watering, but they haven’t actually been watered for about a week because I potted them up and top watered at that point to bed the roots in. The pots still feel quite heavy so I haven’t felt the need to water.
I have been hardening them off in the British weather, but it’s a bit of a colder week this week so keeping them inside.
Can’t see any mites, thrips or aphids in the vicinity. Any ideas?
Anyone in Northern Ireland want some chilli plants, I have had to downsize as they are kept in cabinets to keep away from the cats. They are mystery chillies, as I got a mystery pack.
I'm in South Yorkshire at quite high elevation so I'm definitely keeping them in their indoor greenhouse for now (whole thing is meant to go outside, eventually!).
Hoping things start to warm up properly and consistently soon, especially at night time!
Hi, first time grower here asking for advice.
South East, UK - I planted 3 varieties (Havana Gold, Fiesta Sunset & Buena Mulata) back in mid February. Germinated after 5 days. Started them in a heated propagator tray for their first month then potted into small pots. Began hardening off approx 1.5 months ago and now in greenhouse full time. Didn't have any reasonable sized pots to move into so I several plants on large pots last week.
My biggest and healthiest plants are only the height of a cigarette; although they are growing slowly.
I'm seeing pictures of everyone else's chillis on here and mine seem to be tiny and struggling in comparison. We've had a great spring down here so far, so I was expecting them to thrive. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Met Office is showing 0c tonight where I live in the West County. I only went and planted out my whole veg plot yesterday! I’ll smother them, and even my greenhouse plants, with horticultural fleece.
I'm enjoying seeing what is thriving and whats lagging behind. I dont think there's ever a 'wrong' time to sow as from every plant you grow you bank knowledge. From my 'personal use' collection I've got a January sown hungarian black in flower and an overwintered jalepeno thats come back really well, everything else got started early April. Unsurprisingly the candy cane chocolate cherry are fast off the block, and aji delight. A weird faddas cross seem to be doing really well and zebrange is also growing strong. Mattapenos, well, they might be ready next year 😅
Was hoping to get these outside (or at least in the greenhouse tent) this week but weather forecast is saying it's going to drop down as low as 1 Celsius overnight 😩 1st image is my scotch bonnets, 2nd is some chilli seeds that I found in a garden centre, I wish I kept the packaging but it boldly claimed the plants can grow approx 300 chillis per plant ...
All 7 are super healthy and growing well. The Peppa Peach is flowering and Golden Primotalii has flower buds appearing. The Lingria is getting bushy, and all 3 Warthogs are doing well. The Chinese 5 Colour is growing taller than I was expecting. Feeding daily with Chilli Focus. Dealt with an aphid issue on one plant with a mild wash up liquid in water spray.
